Jon Stewart slams CNN Wolf Blitzer’s ‘shock’ over Baltimore: ‘Ferguson was just a few months ago’

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 29, 2015 by sheriffali

Hours after being called out by a Ferguson activist, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer was the butt of the joke on the Daily Show on Tuesday night, as Jon Stewart hammered him for acting shocked about the unrest in Baltimore.[Daily Show Video Link Below]

“Elvis leading a herd of orthodox Jewish unicorns through a city street — that would be hard to believe,” Stewart said. “This sh*t happens all the time. Ferguson was just a few months ago, and you were talking about it.”

To prove his point, Stewart showed footage of Blitzer acting just as apoplectic over the protests in Ferguson last November.

“I am worried about you,” Stewart said. “Do I need to get [Adam] Sandler to go over to your house and just run sh*t by you every morning?”

Overall, Stewart said, reporters have failed to pick up on the recurring nature of urban protests in the US, with Baltimore and Ferguson taking their place among manifestations of turmoil like Watts, Los Angeles, and Miami, among others.

“These cyclical eruptions appear like tragedy cicadas,” he said. “Depressing in their similarity, predictability, and intractability.”

Things are so “f*cked up” in Baltimore, Stewart explained, that its most successful employment program was casting extras for The Wire, a show devoted to showing the world how it was breaking down.

The city also let hostility fester by not taking steps to better monitor tensions between the police and residents, he said, pointing out that even volcano alerts run on a four-tier system.

“Maybe a more nuanced alert system could allow for more productive intervention beyond, ‘You have 10 seconds to disperse,’” Stewart argued. “Or we could agree to keep ignoring the roots of how systemically, historically disenfranchised many African-American communities still are, only paying attention to them when their periodic fiery ball of anger threatens to enter our airspace like some kind of Alex Haley’s comet. And once again breathing a blissful sigh of forgetful relief when it’s another near-miss.”

It is a fact that the Koch Brothers, Sheldon Adelson, Donald Trump and the likes are Parasitic Parasites affecting America’s Society via their Repugnant Minions, Republican Politicians.

It is also a fact that most Republican Voters are uninformed, ignorant, uneducated and brainwashed, living in Red States run by Republicans and they are the Poorest in the Nation. Despite all of the whining by the GOP, Whites living in Red States are the biggest recipients of Government Assistance; Food Stamps, Welfare and other Social Services.

It is also a fact that Republican Politicians does not promote Education to their Constituencies, because Poll after Poll shows that the Republican Voters definitively have a very low IQ.

It is also a fact that Republican Politicians permeates Guns over Books, Bigotry, Racial Prejudice, Religion, Hate, and Misinformation to their Voters, in order to keep them uninformed, ignorant and brainwashed that factually, keep these GOP Voters, voting against their own interest and that of their children and their country.

Factually, Republicans haven’t done anything in the past 14 years that is of benefit to the 99% of Americans that do not fit into the Rich Scum Bags Club. Republicans are always promoting Wars, Tax Cuts for the Rich, paid for by slashing vitally needed Social Programs for the Middle Class, Students, Poor and the Elderly.

As a Country that goes to War in the name of Democracy and Freedom, Extremists need to stop the hate and bigotry, fascism and prejudice, and encourage acceptance, not just tolerance, when it comes to Equal Rights for all.

The Evangelical Right Wing Sanctimonious Extremists, especially the Republican Politicians in Congress, the Governor’s Mansions and especially those seeking the highest office in the land, The Presidency, have embarrassed America more than they are able to ascertain, over the rights of Gays and Lesbians to be married.

America with all its faults were on the right tract before the Republicans by 57% Polling showed that they want to turn America into a Christian Nation. Whenever and Wherever Politics, State and Religion collide, the boisterous waters of self righteousness will run-aground the Largest of Ships.

Republican Field Woos Iowa Evangelical Christian: Republicans are not running on Faith they are running on Fraud!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 26, 2015 by sheriffali

[NYT] WAUKEE, Iowa — Nine declared or likely Republican candidates descended on a large church in Iowa on Saturday to court evangelical Christians, the voters who played the starring role in the state’s two most recent caucuses.

They included the winners of those two contests (Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee), newcomers whose biographies lend themselves to evangelical support (Ted Cruz and Scott Walker), and candidates who would like to win some support from the Christian right but are eyeing broad coalitions (Rand Paul and Marco Rubio).

The nine-candidate lineup in the worship hall ofPoint of Grace Church in Waukee, a Des Moines suburb, was proof of evangelical power in Iowa, but also a warning that the script may be rewritten in 2016, with so many candidates competing for social conservatives that their votes splinter.

“The problem for Christian conservative candidates is they’re all running in the same lane,” said Kedron Bardwell, a political scientist at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, who studies religion and politics.

The speakers wooed the crowd, several hundred who were seated in steeply banked rows, with stories about the role of faith in their personal lives and pledges to support issues important to social conservatives, not only abortion and same-sex marriage but also a newly rising interest in security threats in the Middle East.

Many portrayed Christians as an increasingly persecuted community, seeking to appeal to the evangelical audience with vows to protect what they described as religious liberty for people of faith.

There were glimpses of personal biographies that are not the usual staples of stump speeches. Rick Perry, the former Texas governor, told of moving back into his childhood bedroom after a career in the Air Force, when he felt lost, until he had an epiphany that “I was going to spend the rest of my life doing God’s work.”

“I just really never realized how large the pulpit was going to be that he was going to make available to me 30 years later as the governor of Texas,” he said.

arly Fiorina, the former Hewlett-Packard chief executive, talked about how after losing a daughter to addiction, “it was my husband Frank’s and my personal relationship with Jesus Christ that saved us from a desperate sadness.”

And Bobby Jindal, the Louisiana governor, said the most important moment in his life was not his wedding day or when he held his first child, but “the moment I found Jesus Christ.”

Bobby Jindal Christianity Is The Same As Adolf Hitler. Jindal, The Tea Party And Republican Puppet Wrecked Louisiana And Now Want To Be President!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on April 24, 2015 by sheriffali

Jindal Refuses To Implement The Affordable Care Act [Obamacare] depriving hundreds of thousands of Louisianans without Health Care, denigrates those that are Gays or Lesbians [LGBT] and cut education to give Corporations Tax Breaks. Just how the hell does that add up to be Christian?

Bobby Jindal is a special kind of hypocrite. Jindal is ashamed of his race and actually changed his given name “Piyush” to Bobby. Jindal said that Minorities should act White in order to avoid problems. Jindal is even ashamed of the dark color of his skin.

Personally, I reject “all” Religions period. Religions were created by fallible men and carried out by fallible people that use fear to prey on the vulnerable. Joel Osteen, Benny Hinn, Paula White and all of the hypocritical Preachers, they bilk every penny they can get and they live in Mansions, fly on Private Jets and are driven around in Limousines.

Bobby Jindal: “I’m Holding Firm Against Gay Marriage” Jindal’s Op-ed from the New York times.

BATON ROUGE, La. — THE debate over religious liberty in America presents conservatives and business leaders with a crucial choice.

In Indiana and Arkansas, large corporations recently joined left-wing activists to bully elected officials into backing away from strong protections for religious liberty. It was disappointing to see conservative leaders so hastily retreat on legislation that would simply allow for an individual or business to claim a right to free exercise of religion in a court of law.

Our country was founded on the principle of religious liberty, enshrined in the Bill of Rights. Why shouldn’t an individual or business have the right to cite, in a court proceeding, religious liberty as a reason for not participating in a same-sex marriage ceremony that violates a sincerely held religious belief?

That is what Indiana and Arkansas sought to do. That political leaders in both states quickly cowered amid the shrieks of big business and the radical left should alarm us all.

As the fight for religious liberty moves to Louisiana, I have a clear message for any corporation that contemplates bullying our state: Save your breath.

In 2010, Louisiana adopted a Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which prohibits government from unduly burdening a person’s exercise of religion. However, given the changing positions of politicians, judges and the public in favor of same-sex marriage, along with the potential for discrimination against Christian individuals and businesses that comes with these shifts, I plan in this legislative session to fight for passage of theMarriage and Conscience Act.

The legislation would prohibit the state from denying a person, company or nonprofit group a license, accreditation, employment or contract — or taking other “adverse action” — based on the person or entity’s religious views on the institution of marriage.

Hillary Clinton Obliterates The Latest Republican Benghazi Stunt With A Single Letter

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on April 24, 2015 by sheriffali

In a letter, former Sec. Clinton’s attorney David Kendall took all the air out the Republican hopes to drag the Benghazi Committee into the 2016 election, and destroyed their latest conspiracy before it got going.

Kendall wrote to Benghazi Select Committee Chairman Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-OK) that Clinton wants to testify before the committee without delay:

In November, I informed your staff of Secretary Clinton’s willingness to testify before the Select Committee on Benghazi. In the succeeding months, she has reiterated her willingness, and I do so again on her behalf. There is no reason to delay her appearance, or have her testify in a private interview.

….

While Secretary Clinton has testified before committees in both the House and the Senate about the tragic events in Benghazi, she has made clear that she will voluntarily testify publicly again before the Select Committee and, at that time, is happy to continue to answer any questions the Select Committee may have about her email use.

Earlier in the day, Speaker of the House John Boehner claimed that the Benghazi investigation was going to stretch into 2016 because Hillary Clinton and President Obama are refusing to turn over “the facts.”

The truth is that House Republicans are trying to delay Clinton’s testimony in order to use it as an issue during the 2016 presidential election.

The ranking Democratic member of the Benghazi Select Committee, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) put his finger on the real reason why Republicans want former Sec. Clinton to testify behind closed doors, “Secretary Clinton agreed to testify months ago—in public and under oath—so the Select Committee’s claim that it has no choice but to subject her to a private staff interview is inaccurate. Rather than drag out this political charade into 2016 and selectively leak portions of a closed-door interview, the Committee should schedule the public hearing, make her records public, and re-focus its efforts on the attacks in Benghazi.”

Clinton wants to testify in public because she has nothing to hide. By calling Boehner and Gowdy’s bluff, she is painting Republicans into a corner. The House Republicans are trying to imply that she is guilty of wrongdoing by creating the false perception that Clinton is unwilling to testify. Sec. Clinton and her team are masterfully exposing the partisan motivations behind the latest Benghazi investigation.

Hillary Clinton laid to waste the latest Republican attack on her before it ever got started. The message to Republicans is that Hillary Clinton isn’t going to engage in their games, and if they want to dabble in conspiracies, the former Sec. of State is ready to make them pay. While Israel Terrorize Christians Republicans, Fox News And Evangelicals Accuse President Obama of Persecuting Christ!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 23, 2015 by sheriffali

There are a few things Americans have learned over the past couple of years about the evangelical right. Among their many claims is that they are under heavy assault and face persecution because they are not allowed to rule by theocratic edict. They also persist in accusing President Obama, a Christian, of leading a ferocious assault on not only Christianity, but the religion’s namesake Jesus Christ.

They have also demonstrated their primary loyalty is to Israel, a nation they claim President Obama hates and throws under the proverbial bus because Benjamin Netanyahu is not allowed to dictate America’s foreign policy. If one believed everything Christian extremists claimed, they are being viciously slaughtered at home and abroad for their religion as well as their devotion to Israel because it is opposed to their shared religious enemy Islam.

What the evangelical right never, never ever, talks about is the persecution, barbarism, and hatred targeting Christians at the hands of Israeli Jews in the Holy Land and it leads one to wonder if America’s neo-Christians are using President Obama as a surrogate for the Israelis targeting Christians for persecution.

Recently, the evangelical right’s claim that President Obama persecutes them was due to his historically accurate claim that Christians should temper their hatred and war-rage against the Muslim religion because throughout greatest human atrocities in throughout world history was done in the name of Christ.

Specifically President Obama said that as Christians, “We have no right to get on our high horse and think persecution is unique someplace else,” and that “we should remember that people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ.” The President’s remarks were not well-received by the evangelical right and he incited more rage when he said he was “concerned about less than loving” Christians during the White House Easter breakfast. That was twice in a very brief period of time that the President violated an unspoken American law prohibiting anyone, pundit or politician, from uttering a negative word about American neo-Christianity; even if it is truthful and historically verifiable.

The Christian right attacked the President for “throwing Christ under the bus” and inciting a war against Christians with the same intensity they accuse him of attacking and throwing Israeli Jews under the bus. Their twisted religious logic is that Obama attacks Christians and Israel to prop up the Islamic religion Islam because both groups consider all Muslims a deadly enemy.

It is curious then, that a coalition of Muslims and Christians have called on the United Nations and the World Court to intervene and prosecute Israeli Jews for religious hate crimes, persecution, and terrorist attacks on both Christians and Muslims while the evangelical right condemns Obama for not supporting Israel.

Fox News And NY Times Cut Deal With Dishonest Conservative Author For Dirt On Hillary

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , on April 21, 2015 by sheriffali

Major media outlets, including Fox News and The New York Times, have entered into exclusive agreements with Peter Schweizer to access his book Clinton Cash, and to push its story lines in their coverage of the 2016 presidential race. Schweizer’s book Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich, argues that foreign entities funneled money into The Clinton Foundation in exchange for political favors from the State Department.

Understandably, journalists might be interested in having access to the author’s notes for investigating Hillary Clinton’s dealings. However, given Schweizer’s role as a partisan hack with a history of intellectual dishonesty, Fox News and The New York Times, are demonstrating a lack of journalistic integrity. Apparently they have decided that they are more interested in promoting a compelling story than they are in reporting the truth.

Schweizer is the Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large, and he also worked as a consultant in the George W. Bush White House. In addition, he served as a foreign policy consultant to Sarah Palin, and he was paid over 100,000 dollars as an issue adviser for her “SarahPAC” Political Action Committee. While these conservative affiliations do not necessarily disqualify his findings from consideration, they do raise concerns about his objectivity as a researcher. Those concerns are compounded by his history of inaccurate research.

In 2006, USA Today had to retract a column Schweizer wrote because he falsely alleged that Al Gore was receiving royalties from a zinc mine on his Tennessee property.

In 2013.Time debunked a Schweizer claim that appeared inPoliticofalsely claiming that President Barack Obama and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius had only met in-person once between March 23, 2010, when the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was passed, and November 30, 2013, when it was signed into law. Contrary to Schweizer’s claims, they actually had met at least 18 times during that period.

A longer list of Schweizer’s research errors and published falsehoods has been documented by Eric Hananoki at the left-leaning Media Matters For America site. Schweizer’s long history of promoting lies and half truths about Democrats should raise serious questions about the credibility of his latest book Clinton Cash.

Despite Schweizer’s history of mangling the truth, the mainstream media seems all too willing to use his distorted hyper-partisan research as a lens by which they look at Hillary Clinton’s candidacy. While it is possible that the book Clinton Cash may contain tidbits of truth somewhere in its pages, Schweizer’s history of spreading lies while trying to pass his work off as objective journalism, should disqualify him from being part of any credible media outlet’s coverage of the Clinton campaign or the 2016 presidential race. However, since FOX News and The New York Times are apparently interested in pushing Schweizer’s dubious narrative, we can probably dispense the notion that either of those organizations are credible sources of news. US Warship Heads To Yemeni Waters; Could block Iran weapons

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on April 21, 2015 by sheriffali

WASHINGTON (AP) — In a stepped-up response to Iranian backing of Shiite rebels in Yemen, the Navy aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt is steaming toward the waters off Yemen to beef up security and join other American ships that are prepared to intercept any Iranian vessels carrying weapons to the Houthi rebels.

The deployment comes after a U.N. Security Council resolution approved last week imposed an arms embargo on leaders of the Iranian-backed Shiite Houthi rebels. The resolution passed in a 14-0 vote with Russia abstaining.

Navy officials said Monday that the Roosevelt was moving through the Arabian Sea. A massive ship that carries F/A-18 fighter jets, the Roosevelt is seen more of a deterrent and show of force in the region.

The U.S. Navy has been beefing up its presence in the Gulf of Aden and the southern Arabian Sea in response to reports that a convoy of about eight Iranian ships is heading toward Yemen and possibly carrying arms for the Houthis. Navy officials said there are about nine U.S. warships in the region, including cruisers and destroyers carrying teams that can board and search other vessels.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the ship movement on the record.

Saudi Arabia and several of its allies, mainly Gulf Arab countries, have been trying to drive back the rebels, who seized the capital of Sanaa in September and have overrun many other northern provinces with the help of security forces loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh. The U.S. supports the Saudi campaign.

Western governments and Sunni Arab countries say the Houthis get their arms from Iran. Tehran and the rebels deny that, although the Islamic Republic has provided political and humanitarian support to the Shiite group.

The U.S. has been providing logistical and intelligence support to the Saudi coalition launching airstrikes against the Houthis. That air campaign is now in its fourth week, and the U.S. has also begun refueling coalition aircraft involved in the conflict.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest would not comment specifically on any Navy movements in Yemeni waters, but said the U.S. has concerns about Iran’s “continued support for the Houthis.

“We have seen evidence that the Iranians are supplying weapons and other armed support to the Houthis in Yemen. That support will only contribute to greater violence in that country. These are exactly the kind of destabilizing activities that we have in mind when we raise concerns about Iran’s destabilizing activities in the Middle East.”

He said, “The Iranians are acutely aware of our concerns for their continued support of the Houthis by sending them large shipments of weapons.”

The expanded U.S. Navy activity in the region comes at a sensitive time, as the U.S. and six world powers have reached a framework deal with Iran to control its nuclear program. Since the preliminary deal with reached on April 2, Iran and the U.S. have been disputing the details of the deal. And on Monday, a lawyer for Tehran-based Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian said Tehran had charged Rezaian with espionage and three other crimes. The Obama administration dismisses the charges as “absurd.”

The U.S. Navy generally conducts consensual boardings of ships when needed, including to combat piracy around Africa and the region. So far, however, U.S. naval personnel have not boarded any Iranian vessels since the Yemen conflict began.

Officials said it’s too soon to speculate on what the Navy ships may do as the Iranian convoy approaches, including whether Iran would consent to a boarding request, and what actions the Navy would take if its request was refused.

Yemen, the Arab world’s poorest country, has been pushed to the brink of collapse by ground fighting and the Saudi-led airstrikes in support of current President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who was forced to flee to Saudi Arabia. Observers say the fighting in the strategic Mideast nation is taking on the appearance of a proxy war between Iran, the Shiite powerhouse backing the Houthis, and Sunni-dominated Saudi Arabia.

Jeb Bush Declares His Brother’s Failures Irrelevant! But, Hell No, George W Bush And Dick Cheney Wrecked The Country And The World!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 20, 2015 by sheriffali

Two months ago, Jeb Bush was asked about some of his brother’s foreign policy decisions. “I won’t talk about the past,” the Republican said, adding his unannounced presidential campaign is “not about re-litigating anything in the past.”

The Washington Post reported over the weekend that the former governor’s position hasn’t improved much since.

…Bush dodged reporter’s questions about how he might govern differently than his father or brother or whether his views on foreign policy differ from them…. Bush has previously said that the intelligence used to justify the start of the Iraq war was flawed, but he pushed back against a question Friday about whether his brother had made any other mistakes with his foreign policy.

“I’m not going to get into that,” he said. “That’s not particularly relevant in a world of deep insecurity, focusing on the past is not really relevant. What’s relevant is what’s the role of America going forward?”

The comments were, of course, caught on tape.

The obvious problem with Bush’s position is that it’s factually wrong. If there’s “deep insecurity” in the world, much of it is the direct result of some of his brother’s decisions – most notably a disastrous and unnecessary war in the Middle East that destabilized the region.

If the Florida Republican genuinely believes his brother’s wars aren’t “relevant” to today’s national security challenges, Bush is badly confused about the basics of current events. Indeed, Americans deserve to know whether the former governor has learned any lessons from his brother’s devastating failure; “I’m not going to get into that” isn’t a satisfactory reply.

The less obvious problem is that Bush has already surrounded himself with the Bush family’s team of foreign-policy advisers. In the context of his 2016 candidacy, few things are as relevant as this basic truth.

Jeb Bush believes his foreign policy beliefs should be guided by his brother’s staff, but at the same time, Jeb Bush believes his brother’s foreign policy decisions aren’t relevant to his presidential ambitions. If he sees this as a coherent argument, he’s mistaken.

Finally, let’s not brush past the contradiction at the heart of Bush’s talking points: he insists that “focusing on the past is not really relevant,” while at the same time, he’s eager to condemn President Obama’s handling of international affairs. Last week, the GOP candidate told an audience that Obama “believes that America’s power is not appropriate and America’s presence is not a force for good,” which is both demonstrably ridiculous and an obvious attempt to focus on the past.

There’s still plenty of time for Bush to come up with a more lucid response to these questions, though I’ll confess to being hard pressed to imagine what those answers might look like. The results of his brother’s foreign policies – and to a very real degree, Jeb Bush’s advisers’ foreign policies – were catastrophic. He doesn’t want to endorse failure; he doesn’t want to condemn his brother; and he can’t simply take a pass on the legitimate questions. It’s not a recipe for long-term success.
