Conservatives Are Gearing Up For Fight Of Their Lives After Gay Marriage Ruling

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 30, 2015 by sheriffali

NEW YORK (AP) — Now that same-sex marriage is legal nationwide, religious conservatives are focusing on preserving their right to object. Their concerns are for the thousands of faith-based charities, colleges and hospitals that want to hire, fire, serve and set policy according to their religious beliefs, notably that gay relationships are morally wrong.

The Republican Party’s 2016 presidential candidates are already campaigning on the issue. And Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is urging President Barack Obama and the nation’s governors “to join me in reassuring millions of Americans that the government will not force them to participate in activities that violate their deeply held religious beliefs.”

The religious liberty fight isn’t about what happens inside the sanctuary. First Amendment protections for worship and clergy are clear. Potential conflicts could arise, however, over religious organizations with some business in the public arena. That category ranges from small religious associations that rent reception halls to the public, to the nation’s massive network of faith-based social service agencies that receive millions of dollars in government grants. Some groups, such as the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, also want protections for individual business owners who consider it immoral to provide benefits for the same-sex spouse of an employee or cater gay weddings.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy raised the issue in the majority opinion Friday granting gays the right to marry. He said First Amendment protections are in place for religious objectors, who “may continue to advocate with utmost, sincere conviction that, by divine precepts, same-sex marriage should not be condoned.”

But in his dissent, Chief Justice John Roberts predicted a clash ahead between religious freedom and same-sex marriage. He specifically noted the dilemma for religious colleges that provide married student housing, and adoption agencies that won’t place children with gay couples.

“There is little doubt that these and similar questions will soon be before this court,” Roberts wrote.

Conservative religious groups have for years been on watch for potential clashes over religious liberty and gay rights, and have been lobbying for religious exemptions in statehouses and Congress. But conservative anxieties intensified over an exchange during April’s oral arguments in the gay marriage case between Justice Samuel Alito and Solicitor General Donald Verrilli.

Alito noted the high court’s 1983 decision to revoke the tax-exemption of Bob Jones University in South Carolina because it barred interracial dating. Alito asked if the government would take such action against religiously affiliated schools that oppose same-sex marriage. Verrilli said, “It is certainly going to be an issue. I don’t deny that.”

KARMA Hit Donald Trump – He Is Fired! Years Of Using The Bankruptcy Laws To Defraud Investors, Arrogant, Bigoted Racist!

NBC will no longer be the home of the Miss Universe and Miss America pageants

NBC has cut longstanding ties with Donald Trump following the presidential hopeful’s controversial comments about immigration.

NBC will no longer be the home of the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, which Trump produces, and Trump has already stepped down from running his reality show The Apprentice to run for president. “At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values,” the network said in a statement. “Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBC Universal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump.”

During his presidential announcement speech earlier this month, Trump called the U.S. “a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems” while speaking about immigration. “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,” he said. “They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

In a statement provided to TIME on Monday, Trump stood by his comments and called NBC “weak” for “trying to be politically correct.”

“If NBC is so weak and so foolish to not understand the serious illegal immigration problem in the United States, coupled with the horrendous and unfair trade deals we are making with Mexico, then their contract violating closure of Miss Universe/Miss USA will be determined in court,” he said. “Furthermore, they will stand behind lying Brian Williams, but won’t stand behind people that tell it like it is, as unpleasant as that may be.” [TIME]

President Obama Will Endorse Hillary Clinton For President

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 28, 2015 by sheriffali

Hillary Clinton is the only Democrat that can keep the White House after President Obama. Bernie Sanders is a good man but his utopian version of projecting what he will do, most of it is just a Pipe’s Dream. I would like to see not just a utopian America but a utopian world, but that is not possible with the indelible wickedness man has within him.

President Obama asked Congress to pass a bill for free two year college and to date the Republicans have rebuked the idea and threw it in the trash. On the other hand Mr. Sanders on the campaign trail is advocating free four years of college. That is a noble idea, but as long as we have to contend with Republicans in Congress that is not possible.

It is going to take Democrats working together in full support of Hillary Clinton in order to win the Presidency that is backed by 900 Million Dollars to the Republicans from the Koch Brothers alone. If you count the other Republican contributors, we would be fighting perhaps a two billion or more war machine. [This is the fault of the Supreme Court when they sanctioned Citizens United].

Mrs. Clinton was one of America’s top 100 Attorneys as certified by the American Bar Association. She was First Lady of Arkansas; First Lady of the United States; U S Senator for 8 years and Secretary of State for 4 years. Like President Obama, Hillary already has a full blown operation.

It is a fallacy by the Corporate Owned Media that is promulgating that 80% of Republicans agree with Bernie Sanders. It is a game and if we play on that field we are bound to lose. The reality of the GOP is that they know Mr. Sanders is not going to get the nomination and their wishes are that Mr. Sanders would run as an Independent which would take away votes from Hillary and give them the White House. Remember 2000 when Ralph Nader ran!

President Obama Eulogizes Charleston Pastor As One Who Understood Grace. In Singing Amazing Grace POTUS Hit E Flat The Blackest Blues Note Ever.

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 27, 2015 by sheriffali

[NYT] CHARLESTON, S.C. — In one of his presidency’s most impassioned reflections on race, President Obama eulogized the Rev. Clementa C. Pinckney on Friday by calling on the nation to emulate the grace that he displayed in his work and that the people of South Carolina demonstrated after the massacre of nine worshipers at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Before nearly 6,000 mourners and a worldwide television audience, Mr. Obama, who met Mr. Pinckney during his first presidential campaign, placed the shootings in the context of America’s long history of violence against African-Americans. He also reiterated his plea to restrict the availability of firearms and called for the removal of the Confederate battle flag from the grounds of the State House in Columbia.

Mr. Obama thrilled the mostly African-American audience by preaching with revivalist cadences, and by closing his 40-minute address by singing, in solo, the opening refrain of “Amazing Grace.” The crowd came to its feet and joined in, leading the Rev. Norvel Goff, a presiding elder in the A.M.E. church, to later “thank the Reverend President.”

“Maybe we now realize the way racial bias can infect us even when we don’t realize it,” Mr. Obama said as Mr. Pinckney’s coffin, draped in a blanket of red roses, sat before him. “So that we’re guarding against not just racial slurs, but we’re also guarding against the subtle impulse to call Johnny back for a job interview, but not Jamal. So that we search our hearts when we consider laws to make it harder for some of our fellow citizens to vote.” By treating every child as important regardless of skin color and by opening up opportunities for all Americans, Mr. Obama said, “We express God’s grace.”

As the nation’s first African-American president, Mr. Obama has often struggled to find the proper balance of timing, words and place to speak about America’s racial divisions. Intent on being seen as a president for all and confronted with what he saw as the more urgent economic crisis, he approached racially charged disputes cautiously in his first term.

But politically unfettered after his re-election in 2012, and angered by the racially motivated killings in Charleston and the deaths of black men at the hands of white police officers, the president on Friday dispensed with his usual reticence, rediscovered the soaring rhetoric that inspired his supporters in 2008, and spoke with unusual — and occasionally acerbic — directness. “For too long,” Mr. Obama said, “we’ve been blind to the way past injustices continue to shape the present. Perhaps we see that now. Perhaps this tragedy causes us to ask some tough questions about how we can permit so many of our children to languish in poverty, or attend dilapidated schools, or grow up without prospects for a job or for a career.”

Obama Gains Vindication and Secures Legacy With Health Care Ruling – A Victory For The American People

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 26, 2015 by sheriffali

The Republicans that are running on empty and not doing anything to help America or the American people, they again came out in full force, “we must repeal Obamacare.”

John Boehner and Mitch McConnell lead the charge against Chief Justice Roberts and continue lying about how bad the Affordable Care Act is for America.

It is stunning to witness the stupidity of some Americans when asked if they like the Affordable Care Act, they say that it is great; then when asked if they like Obamacare, they fraught with disdain.

These are the people that make up the Republican Voters and yes, Republican Politicians continue to prey on the vulnerable, uninformed, ignorant and brainwashed base.[Sheriff Ali]

[NYT] WASHINGTON — For years, President Obama has faced the sneers of political adversaries who called his health care law Obamacare and assailed his effort to build a legacy that has been the aspiration of every Democratic president since Harry S. Truman.

But on Thursday, Mr. Obama walked into the Rose Garden to accept vindication as the Supreme Court, for a second time, affirmed the legality of a part of the Affordable Care Act. Mr. Obama said the law “is working exactly as it’s supposed to” and called for an end to the vitriolic politics that have threatened it.

“The point is, this is not an abstract thing anymore,” Mr. Obama told reporters, with Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. smiling broadly beside him. “This is not a set of political talking points. For all the misinformation campaigns, all the doomsday predictions, all the talk of death panels and job destruction, for all the repeal attempts — this law is now helping tens of millions of Americans.”

Mr. Obama’s plea to stop “refighting battles that have been settled again and again and again” met on Thursday with immediate resistance. House Speaker John A. Boehner, Republican of Ohio, promised to “do everything we can” to undermine the law. Jeb Bush, a Republican candidate for president, vowed “to repeal and replace this flawed law” if he succeeds Mr. Obama in the Oval Office.

Mr. Boehner said he will continue to move forward with a lawsuit against the president that argues that Mr. Obama overstepped his legal authority in carrying out the health care act, although the case is in its early stages at the district court level and could take years to come before the Supreme Court. Other Republicans mused on Thursday about using parliamentary maneuvers to chip away at the law.

But for Mr. Obama, the ruling was a personal affirmation of the wisdom of engaging in a costly political fight that began almost as soon as he took office. The court’s ruling, Mr. Obama said Thursday, cements the Affordable Care Act in American history as the logical extension of Social Security and Medicare.

“This generation of Americans chose to finish the job,” Mr. Obama said, reading from one of two sets of remarks — one written as if the Supreme Court upheld the subsidies and another as if the court did not. Cody Keenan, Mr. Obama’s chief speechwriter, had prepared both sets before the court announced its decision.

Once the decision was announced, and just before walking into the Rose Garden, Mr. Obama signed the set of remarks for Mr. Keenan that were written as if the court had ruled against the administration. “Didn’t need this one, brother!” Mr. Obama scrawled across the bottom.

Republicans Are Really Coming Out From The Abyss Non-Stop In Their Wish To Be The Next President Of The United States. The GOP Are Not Short On Fools As Bobby Jindal Joins The GOP Clown Bush

Republicans Are Really Coming Out From The Abyss Non-Stop In Their Wish To Be The Next President Of The United States. The GOP Are Not Short On Fools As Bobby Jindal Joins The GOP Clown Bush

Bobby Jindal has time and again proven the truth in the words of Benjamin of Franklin; “We are all born ignorant but have to work hard to remain stupid.”

[NYT] Good Wednesday morning from Washington, where even agreements don’t guarantee the end of the long battle over the trade bill. Though the nation’s attention still falls on the shooting in Charleston, S.C., the campaign focus pulls to Louisiana where Gov. Bobby Jindal is likely to make an announcement that many before him have already made.

Days after landing near the bottom of a nationwide poll of Republican primary voters, Mr. Jindal is expected on Wednesday to announce that he is running for president, joining the crowded field of Republican contenders in what even his supporters call a long-shot candidacy.

Mr. Jindal, 44, was elected as the nation’s first Indian-American governor in 2007 and quickly earned a reputation as a technocrat and a darling of Christian conservatives. Mr. Jindal, who was raised by Hindu parents and converted to Roman Catholicism, has since watched his approval ratings plummet. Criticized for focusing on laying the groundwork for his presidential run instead of running the state, Mr. Jindal lately has been almost as unpopular with some Republicans as he has been with Democrats.

“I don’t think anybody in Louisiana thinks he can win,” said Roy Fletcher, a Republican political consultant in Baton Rouge who was deputy campaign manager for John McCain’s presidential campaign in 2000.

His low approval ratings are based in part on his handling of the state’s budget and its $1.6 billion shortfall. Lawmakers on both sides publicly denounced, but ultimately approved, the governor’s complex tax credit plan that helped close the budget gap. Republicans called the plan “nonsense.”

At his announcement on Wednesday, Mr. Jindal is likely to embrace and appeal to his strongest base: social conservatives and evangelical Christians. Mr. Jindal is an outspoken proponent of “religious liberty,” issuing an executive order recently to protect those who, on religious grounds, do not support same-sex marriage. He issued the order after a similar bill died in the Legislature.

“It is crazy to underestimate his doggedness or his political skills,” said Quin Hillyera conservative columnist and Louisiana native.

Rupert Murdoch Owner Of the Wall Street Journal And Fox News Poll Shows Hillary Clinton Crushing All Rivals Democrats And Republicans

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , on June 23, 2015 by sheriffali

Hillary Clinton is riding high in a New WSJ/NBC Poll, with a whopping 60 point margin over her nearest Democratic rival and commanding leads nationally against her would-be Republican Opponents.

The Poll found the former Secretary of State garnering 75 Percent of the vote in a potential Democratic Primary. Her closest challenger, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, received only 15 Percent of Democrats’ support, while former Virginia Senator Jim Webb and former Maryland Governor, Martin O’Malley were supported by fewer than 5 Percent of respondents.

The results represent a resurgence of Hillary Clinton after Bernie Sanders had appeared to close the gap slightly in recent months.

For years haters of Mrs. Clinton have asserted fact less innuendos and assumptions of wrong doings, something that has never had one inch of truth. If you recall, during the Bill Clinton years as President Republicans rather than do their jobs, used a Special Prosecutor for almost 8 years, wasting Taxpayers money chasing a White Water Land Deal in Arkansas, where the Clinton’s lost $50.00.

For the sake of America, if anyone of the Republicans that are currently official Candidates and those yet to come ends up in the White House after President Obama, The United States would be ruined into a Banana Republic.

Whether you like Hillary Clinton or not that is your choice, but realistically she is the only person that can “Slash And Burn,” the Koch sponsored Evil Does – The Republicans. Bernie Sanders is a good and decent man, but he doesn’t possess the testicular fortitude to “Whip” the lying deceitful, Republicans that supports only the 1% and foreign Governments like Israel.

I have cast my Lot with Hillary Clinton all the way to victory night. Mrs. Clinton is more than qualified to be President.

Hillary Clinton:

She was one of America’s top 100 Attorneys as determined by the American Bar Association.

First Lady of Arkansas

First Lady of The United States

US Senator for 8 years

United States – Secretary of State for 4 years.

Subsequent to George W Bush and Dick Cheney wrecking America and America’s credibility, Hillary Clinton was very instrumental in assisting President Obama in pulling America out of the deep and unforgiving waters, Bush and Cheney threw us into.
