The Jewish Jihadist, Benjamin Netanyahu; internecine polices doesn’t help us with Iran!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on November 25, 2013 by sheriffali

Considering that Israel is largest recipient of America’s foreign aid for which they received in 2012 THREE BILLION DOLLARS, and in addition, the United States unequivocal guarantee of securing Israel’s security and sovereignty, one would think that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would do his part in supporting our efforts for a long term peace, rather than the obnoxious, obstructionist, equally destructive part that Mr. Netanyahu continues to promulgate.

The agreement that was reached on November 23, 2013 with Iran, did not only involve the United States, but, included Russia, China, France and United Kingdom, all Permanent Members of The United Nations Security Council and in addition, The European Union Foreign Policy Chief and Germany’s Foreign Minister.

It is always necessary to have the five permanent members of the United Nations Council on the same side, because, any one of the five permanent members veto, would render any “International” effort moot.

However, prior to the agreement being reached and subsequent, Mr. Netanyahu got on every News Outlet and denounced the agreement as a Historic Mistake. Keep in mind that this is the same man that continues to erect Jewish Settlements in the West Bank and equally destructive, Mr. Netanyahu always take the “hard-line” position when it comes to a most vital Policy as it pertain to a Two-State Settlement between Israel and Palestine.

No one is that much of a “fool” to believe that this initial agreement is going to resolve Iran’s Nuclear ambitions, but, after thirty years of having gotten no where in resolving our differences with Iran, it is good that some process begins.

Along with Benjamin Netanyahu’s parasitic views we find on the Sunday programs Richard Haass. This is the same man that told former President George W. Bush that the war with Iraq would only last six days. There are other Congressional Representatives in the Senate and the House, mostly Republicans, who have voted to cut food stamp benefits, but, are also hell-bent on predicting that the agreement is a mistake and are jockeying for war!

The American People had better wake up and remain conscious, because in 2003, 80% of Americans supported Bush’s effort for the invasion of Iraq and we know how well that turned out. At the present time 56% of Americans support the diplomatic route with Iran, while 36% is against, but, most of the time many Americans are like tumbleweed, they roll with the wind!

Obamacare: The Rest of the Story… New York Times

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on November 23, 2013 by sheriffali

Unless you’ve been bamboozled by the frantic fictions of the right wing, you know that the Affordable Care Act, familiarly known as Obamacare, has begun to accomplish its first goal: enrolling millions of uninsured Americans, many of whom have been living one medical emergency away from the poorhouse. You realize those computer failures that have hampered sign-ups in the early days — to the smug delight of the critics — confirm that there is enormous popular demand. You have probably figured out that the real mission of the Republican extortionists and their big-money backers  was to scuttle the law before most Americans recognized it as a godsend and rendered it politically untouchable.

What you may not know is that the Affordable Care Act is also beginning, with little fanfare, to accomplish its second great goal: to promote reforms to our overpriced, underperforming health care system. Irony of ironies, the people who ought to be most vigorously applauding this success story are Republicans, because it is being done not by government decree but almost entirely with market incentives.

Using mainly the marketplace clout of Medicare and some seed money, the new law has spurred innovation and efficiency. And while those new insurance exchanges that are now lurching into business will touch roughly 1 in 10 Americans (the rest of us are already covered by private employer plans or by government programs like Medicare), these systemic reforms potentially touch every patient, every taxpayer.

“This is the 90 percent of the story that doesn’t make the headlines,” said Sam Glick, who follows health care reform for the Oliver Wyman consulting firm.

Since the Affordable Care Act was signed three years ago, more than 370 innovative medical practices, called accountable care organizations, have sprung up across the country,  with 150 more in the works. At these centers, Medicare or private insurers reward doctors financially when their patients require fewer hospital stays, emergency room visits and surgeries — exactly the opposite of what doctors have traditionally been paid to do. The more money the organization saves, the more money its participating providers share. And the best way to save costs (which is, happily, also the best way to keep patients alive) is to catch problems before they explode into emergencies.

Thus the accountable care organizations have become the Silicon Valley of preventive care, laboratories of invention driven by the entrepreneurial energy of start-ups.

These organizations have invested heavily in information technology so they can crunch patient records to identify those most at risk, those who are overdue for checkups, those who have not been filling their prescriptions and presumably have not been taking their meds. They then deploy new medical SWAT teams — including not just doctors but health coaches, care coordinators, nurse practitioners — to intervene and encourage patients to live healthier lives.

Advocates of these reforms like to say that they are transforming medicine from the treatment of disease to the treatment of patients — and ultimately the treatment of populations.

At Cornerstone Health Care, a 250-doctor organization in North Carolina, patients with a history of congestive heart failure get a daily phone call from a nurse asking them to step on a scale and report their weight, the best early indicator of an impending emergency. The next stage, Grace Terrell, the president of Cornerstone, told me, will be to give these patients scales that automatically transmit their weight directly to the nurse. (“If the N.S.A. is Big Brother, we’re Big Mother,” Terrell says of the weight surveillance program.) Diabetes patients are invited in for low-cost pedicures. Why? Because diabetics are notoriously vulnerable to infections that lead to amputation, and a common cause of those infections is ingrown toenails. (Both of these practices were pioneered by CareMore, a California-based company that runs clinics for Medicare patients and that has become a major role model since Obamacare.)

The Heritage Provider Network, a huge accountable care organization in California, offers Medicare patients free dance lessons, healthy cooking classes and casino excursions that feature “brain power” activities on the bus. The Greater Buffalo United Accountable Healthcare Network, a new, seven-doctor practice in upstate New York, is building a gym and a teaching kitchen for its patients, who are mostly inner-city minorities.

“Most doctors were on treadmills,” plodding through their routines, said Raul Vazquez, the chief executive of the Buffalo venture. Now they’re reinventing health care for the inner city with an invigorated sense of mission.

This is not the heroic medicine that turns surgeons into gods and emergency rooms into Hollywood material. Don’t expect to see a toenail-clipping episode on “Grey’s Anatomy.” But these services address the embarrassing fact, reiterated in study after study after study, that Americans pay much more for medical care than other developed countries, with no better results. Obamacare addresses this problem by going, as Willie Sutton famously advised, where the money is. It concentrates resources on the unhealthiest. According to Kaiser Health News, the sickest 1 percent of patients account for 21 percent of health care costs; 5 percent account for half of the total costs.

“There are organizations that are bringing emergency room visits down by 15 to 20 percent,” Glick said. “Hospital admissions, you see numbers like 20 and 30 percent. That can make a huge difference not only in the cost of care but also in the quality of care.”

The best sign that these innovations are beginning to go viral is that they have caught the attention of some giant businesses. Drugstore chains like Walgreens and CVS are now partnering with hospitals or accountable care organizations to give patients convenient points of access and to coordinate treatment. Companies that spend heavily on employee health care plans are learning the best lessons of the Obamacare laboratory. Walmart, the country’s biggest private employer, will fly workers who need transplants or heart or spinal surgery to premier facilities like the Mayo or Cleveland Clinics to assure that their problems get fixed right the first time, avoiding costly readmissions.

Obamacare has also had some important indirect consequences. According to Catherine Dower of the Center for the Health Professions at the University of California at San Francisco, since the Affordable Care Act states have become more aggressive about challenging some of the protectionist laws that prevent well-qualified medical professionals — pharmacists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, emergency medical technicians — from offering some kinds of primary care. California just passed a law that will allow pharmacists to check your blood pressure and cholesterol level and to dispense prescription birth control and antismoking drugs. Letting pharmacists perform services that don’t require seven years of medical training makes those services cheaper and more convenient, increasing the chances consumers will take better care of themselves.

Dower said that while the formal doctor lobby continues to resist this as a threat to the M.D. cartel, many physicians have embraced it, recognizing that outsourcing some of these services leaves them more time to do what only doctors can do. And with an estimated 29 million new clients expected to join the ranks of the insured, there is a lot of work to share.

The emerging system is far from perfect. As Elisabeth Rosenthal reported in The Times on Sunday, Congress buckled to drug company lobbying and refused to let Medicare use its purchasing power to bring down obscenely inflated drug prices. And like any upheaval, the reform of health care will produce some losers. Not all of the new organizations will make a go of it. Since hospitals account for about a third of our health care bill, they are a particular target of cost-cutters; some will fail to adapt and will go out of business. Taking costs out of the system means taking money out of somebody’s pockets. This is what the business world calls “creative destruction.”

Grace Terrell of Cornerstone said that of its 250 doctors, “20 percent are still, ‘Down with Obamacare,’ though even they like the private-enterprise approach; 30 percent really get it; and the others are moving faster than the market. We may ultimately fail, but we’re pretty far ahead of the curve.”

One reason you may not have heard much about this part of the Obamacare story is that it is numbingly complicated. (Stephen M. Davidson of Boston University has written a concise and accessible guide to the law and its consequences.) But I suspect another reason is partisan spite. The Democrats were passionately in favor of enrolling the uninsured, but many would have preferred a government-run program, or at least a public option. What Obamacare has wrought is the kind of market-driven reformation that Republicans pretend to believe in. Which makes you wonder how much of their opposition rests on the merits, and how much is just a loathing for anything associated with Barack Obama. [Bill Keller – New York Times]

PRESIDENT OBAMA - DOING GOOD

CNN like other News Outlets are asking: “Who would History judge more favorably; Obama or Clinton?”

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , on November 21, 2013 by sheriffali

The capricious thinker would automatically choose Bill Clinton, but I think it would be Obama!

President Obama! If people try not to be so capricious in their thinking, they would see all of the problems below that Obama rectified, including the main person that scarred us with 9/11! Doing good in this world is always costly and the ACA eventually will be rectified, and it will go down in History just as Social Security and the other Social Programs have.

Bill Clinton blew with the Political wind. He promised National Insurance and it never happened. He handled Gays in the Military by “Don’t ask Don’t Tell.” He went along with the crazy Republicans and signed into law [DOMA] Defense of Marriage Act for which the Supreme Court said was unconstitutional. [It took Obama to right these wrongs for our fellow human beings from both Clinton and Bush]

In 1996 he went along again with the Republicans and signed a Bill “Immigration Reform.” That Bill violates the Double Jeopardy Clause in the Constitution.

When he took Office Terrorist blew the Twin Towers basement; He and Janet Reno burn down the David Koresh facility that was housing mostly children; In 1995 Bin Laden and his fellow terrorists blew up the Kobar Towers in Saudi Arabia that was housing our Soldiers; Bill sat on his ass and witnessed the slaughter of 850,000 people in Rwanda and Burundi; In 1998 Terrorist blew up two of our Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania; In 1999 Terrorist blew up the USS Cole killing 49 of our service members. What exactly did Bill Clinton do about all of this madness? Not a damn thing!

It was under Bill Clinton’s Stewardship that Mortgage Rules were relaxed and when George W. Bush took over, he compounded the situation and the real estate bottom fell out.

As for the economy, yes, Bill did do some good but at the inception of his Presidency he had the Dot Com wind at his back. By 2000, the Dot Com crashed!

Notice, I didn’t get into the sex scandal because for me, that was then and now between Bill Clinton, his wife and daughter and God!

By no means should my opinion be seen as a defense for Bush and Cheney! As far as I am concerned, these two egregious people took 225 years of American sacrifice and tossed it to the Coyotes’ They both should be in Prison!

Republicans want to kill Obamacare for Political gain, and, the Media’s egregious participation is to inure more “Mammon!”

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on November 15, 2013 by sheriffali

I wonder if any of the perniciousness that is perpetuated by the Republicans and the Media against President Obama’s Affordable Care Act, ever takes into consideration that the ACA is about people, your fellow citizens, rather than for Political and Financial Gains!

The miserable, shameless, Republicans, do not want to fix the Affordable Care Act, they want to “kill” it and return to the status quo, so that the consumers can be scammed again as they have for the past 75 years, and that the GOP can continue to protect the WHORE HOUSES OF THE INSURANCE COMPANIES!

I survived Lymphoma Cancer that was logged in my Spinal Cord; woke up from a diabetic coma against all medical odds; have had hypertension and diabetes for more than two decades and was born with Maniere’s Ear Syndrome [Disease], for which there isn’t any cure. Had I not had the financial means to pay for all of the medical services that ran into millions of dollars, I wouldn’t be typing this comment tonight.

To President Obama’s credit he has and continues to risk his Presidency to insure that Health Care in America is reformed, especially to assist the forty million plus that have had no other means of medical coverage; those with preexisting conditions and the people who has had Insurance only to have it canceled as soon as they fall ill. To me, this is what is called integrity, courage and goodwill to your fellow human being!

Ted Turner’s CNN went from 24 hours of bona fide News into a morass!

Wolf Blitzer, you have become a sorry excuse for Journalism. Have you in recent times listened to yourself or others at CNN actually follow up on your reporting?

Well, if you did you would find that you sound exactly like the raging lunatics in the Republican Party; running down the Government; at every turn discrediting the President; whining like someone with a bad case of hemorrhoids in the middle of the forest and can’t get to the Doctor.

I presume that you see yourself or CNN does as one of the employees who have been with this station and perhaps, just perhaps, it may be the reason why they cut you so much slack. If you were in my employ I would have fired your a long time ago. Your pessimism has become outlandish with the daily “crap” that bleeds out of your mouth. Have you ever Governed a State or much less ran a Country or a business? Spewing internecine opinions is not NEWS!

People want the news; they are not interested in all of the crap from morning through the night. People are certainly not interested in your frigging opinions, because if most of America listens to you, almost everyone would have to be on suicide watch from the gloom and doom that you espouse every day.

Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News is demented, but to their estranged credit, they hate Obama and blames him for all that ails America, but, they don’t hide it! It is self evident Fox News and its followers are brainwashed, racist, hateful or a combination of all three, so they keep their audience.

On the other hand, from 9am in the morning until 8pm at night, CNN is torture. Thanks to Anderson Cooper and Piers Morgan for which I presume has the most audience, is perhaps CNN’S saving grace!

Republicans racism pointed at the highest office in America!

If Ted and Rafael Cruz, Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Donald Trump, Ann Coulter and others weren’t unequivocally sure that they would inure a tremendous negative backlash, they would use the word NIGGER, when speaking about President Obama.

Rafael Cruz narcissistic deluge about sending President Obama back to Kenya, which was conceived by Newt Gingrich’s derogatory remarks when he stated that to understand Obama, you would have to go back to Colonial Kenyan Times, reflects CNN double Standards, who tries to walk on both sides of the road at the same time, appointed Gingrich to Host their revived dumb show – CROSSFIRE!] It should really be called CROSSFIRE-WANTONNESS] Fox News is not only egregious, it is pernicious against Obama, but to their demented credit, they always walk on the extreme right!]

The scheming Donald Trump built an empire on the backs of the Investors for which he filed Bankruptcies four times leaving them in no man’s land, and let us not forget the hundreds of Students he ripped off with his Demonic, Crooked and Ponzi Scheme – Trump University! The only thing Trump can teach students is to be a heartless bastards and how to scheme people out of their money! [Remember his contribution to Racism? Obama’s Birth Certificate]

If a Black person had done 1/10 of 1% of what Donald Trump has been doing over the years, they would be in Prison for the rest of their life!

Just imagine, capricious Bush and Cheney damn near bankrupted the country; Obama came in and saved us from becoming like Russia in 1990, and yet these internecine racist blame Obama for everything that ails America.

All those with 401K plans, when Bush left Office your retirement plan was cut in half or less and today, it is back to 100% and then some. The Dow Jones that went from 14,000 down to 6,500 under Bush now stands at 15,600. For the lame brains that don’t understand, the Dow reflects our financial Pillar of Strength! The one trillion plus annual deficit that Obama inherited is now less than half and yet, Republicans lies promulgate that the deficit is rising.

Remember in 2008 when job loses were averaging 800,000 per month? Well, look at what has happened over the past five years.

Republicans Obamacare Coup d’état shut down the Government; Now, they have resorted to Russian Roulette with the Debt Ceiling!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on October 8, 2013 by sheriffali

Speaker of the House John Boehner, allowing the Tea Party Extremists to place him in the most precarious of predicaments, of using this unorthodox method of tying the defunding of the Affordable Care Act in order to keep the Government operating, is not only bad because they don’t like Obamacare or President Obama or both, but, if the President allows this type of extortion to take place, it would set a precedence that would be detrimental to America, irrespective of whether or not a Republican or Democrat is in the White House in the future.

Obama’s haters may think that the Government being shut down and the debt ceiling on the line may be a good thing because of their disdain for this President, however, if these same people would stop and think for a moment and ask the question; “what if the next President is a Republican and the House of Representatives are controlled by Democrats, wouldn’t they possibly use the same unethical means to obtain their way or the high-way?

Setting aside the entire present dilemma at the moment, if such methods to dismantle a legal bill or any other legal bill for that matter are successful, it would be the same as “opening a can of worms.” Now it is Obamacare, but should Boehner and his Out-of-Control Extremists prevail with their black mail, next it could be Medicare, Medicaid, A Woman’s Right to Choose or even Social Security. As recent as 2007, former President George W. Bush included in his Budget a request to privatize Social Security. Just imagine, since 1935 when Franklin D. Roosevelt introduced Social Security, no Republican Voted for it and since then to the present time, most Republicans have continued to do everything possible, to either privatize or dismantle Social Security and many of the Social Programs that provide assistance to almost 98 percent of the American People.

The same loud-mouths, uninformed, brainwashed irrationals that permeate internecine nonsense, most of them “do collect Social Security; Medicare, Medicaid and Food Stamps!” I am yet to see in the comments, some sensible, well written opinion for why they are against programs such as the Affordable Care Act, rather than the continued phantasmagoric rationales.
