SICKNESS HAS A LIMIT! On February 5, 2019 as I enter into Open Heart Bypass Surgery, I choose; hope over despair; faith over chance; life over death; and my physical, mental and emotional being shall overcome one of life’s obstacles.

In all sickness, the Lord said to the waves of pain, “Hitherto shall ye go, but no further.” His fixed purpose is not the destruction, but the instruction of His people. Wisdom hangs up the thermometer at the furnace mouth and regulates the heart.

The limit is encouragingly comprehensive. The God of providence has limited the time, manner, intensity, repletion, and effects of all our sicknesses; each throb decreed, each sleepless hour predestined, and each relapse ordained, each depression of spirit foreknown, and each sanctifying result eternally purposed. Nothing great or small escapes the ordaining hand of Him who numbers the hairs on our head.

The limit is wisely adjusted to our strength, to the end designed, and to the grace appointed. Affliction comes not at haphazard – the weight of every stroke of the rod is accurately measured. He who made no mistakes in balancing the clouds and meting out the heavens, commits no errors in measuring out the ingredients which compose the medicine of souls. We cannot suffer much more nor be relived too late.

The limit is tenderly appointed. The knife of the Heavenly Surgeon never cuts deeper than is absolutely necessary. “He doth not afflict willingly, nor grieve His Children.” A mother’s heart cries, “Spare my child:” but no mother is more compassionate than our gracious God. When considered how hard-mouthed we are, it is a wonder than we are not driven with a sharper bit. The thought is full of consolation, that he who has fixed the bounds of our habitation, has also fixed the bounds of our tribulation.

My greatest affliction!

Posted in Upside down world with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on November 27, 2016 by sheriffali

We can become able masters of the human heart, but only if we allow ourselves to be tutored in the school of “heart-felt” personal experience.

Kings have their troubles; the peasant has his cares; the wayfarer has many hardships; the Captain has his difficulties, and there were times when the dark valleys were too much for me, but thank God, “The Lord was my Shepherd!”

I was also tried in my friends and my counselors; they forsook me! They that ate my bread lifted up their heels against me, but my worst foes were that of my own household; my blood family; but especially my children, they were my greatest affliction.

The temptations of poverty and wealth, of honor and reproach, of health and sickness, all took a toll on me. The trials from without disturbed my peace, and from within, marred my joy. No sooner I escaped from one trial I fell into another; emerging from one season of despondency and alarm, I was again brought into the lowest depths, whilst simultaneously the waves of billows were rolling over me.

At the time, whatever my frame of mind, whatever ecstasy of depression, was the result of emotions propelled by incomprehensible deep hurt. Having been instructed in life’s personal experience, I have matured with God’s grace through the years, and with my Lord’s inexhaustible mercy, He placed me in “Green Pastures.” My soul, let my Lord’s grace continue to cheer and counsel thee,” this day!

We cannot deny that there isn’t still a race problem in America, but we also cannot deny that we have made enormous progress!

What Oxygen is to the lung, such is hope for the meaning of life.”

Despite all of America’s imperfections, she still stands at the top of the Pleiades of Nations. Former President Abraham Lincoln was quite honest when he said that; “He did not control events and that events control him.” As it was for President Lincoln, for the most part it has been the same for the former and present Presidents.

We all must be mindful that History does not adhere to our anxiety of timing, but rather, it lends itself to its own pace. American History cannot be studied backwards, it must be dwelled upon in the present, encompassing, all of the past as a guide to the great ongoing journey of American History.

If we are to continue on this marvelous journey, then, from our Leaders to every citizen, “we must not see ourselves as being better than others; we must allow wisdom to guide us to see that we are only different.”

On this great day; the 50th Anniversary of the greatest speech of the 20th Century, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., “I have a dream” speech, will always be a work in progress. If we awake from that dream, then we would be subjected to the loss of hope for better tomorrows for the present and future generations!

In his father’s anger the child lost four fingers; in his father’s remorse, he committed suicide!

While a man was polishing his new car, his young son picked up a stone and scratched a line on the side of the car. In anger, the man took his child’s hand and hit it many times; not realizing he was using a wrench. At the hospital the child lost all four fingers due to multiple fractures.

When the child saw his father with painful eyes he asked, “Dad, when will my fingers grow back? The father was so hurt and speechless he went back to his car and kicked it several times. Devastated by his own actions sitting next to the car he looked at the scratches; the child had written; “LOVE YOU DAD.” The next day the child’s Dad committed suicide.

Anger and love have no limits; chose the latter and irrespective of what each new day brings, you would be thankful and happy. You see in the final analysis;

“Things are to be used and people are to be loved, but the problem in today’s world is that, People are used and things are loved!”

For the remainder of this year let us all be mindful to keep this incident in its proper perspective;

“Things are to be used, but People are to be loved.”

It may be a blessing for us to remember to watch our thoughts for they become words; watch our words for they become actions; watch our actions, they become habits; watch our habits for they become character and we must watch our character for it becomes our destiny.

The Will of God will never take you to where the Grace of God will not protect you, so, the best use of life is love; the best expression of love is time and the best time to love, is now!

To my Mom, Sabrina Fulton By Trayvon Martin!

[If Trayvon had lived, I believe he would write these words

To his graceful Mom, Ms. Sabrina Fulton]

Mom, for the clutch of pains that follow you

From your head down to your sole,

Wondering what life holds’ for you?

In the darkness of your world

Despite the pangs, Mom, do not complain

Even when you pine,

And though at times you may feel disdain

Please know, you are wholly Thine

Beyond this world of wrath and tears

I Loom from the Heavens’ above,

With freedom from pains or fears!

And the bounty of our Father’s love

So, in the midst of your circumstance

In the blessed evening shade,

Mom, live by faith and not by chance

Strong in heart and always, unafraid!

Ms. Sabrina Fullerton; I dedicate this Poem’s message to you, coupled with the amazing words so full of truth, written, so long ago.

“You must go back, then, a little way to the choice mercies of yesterday, and though all may be dark now, you must light up the lamps of the past. They shall glitter through the darkness, and you must continue to trust in the Lord, till the day break, and the shadows flee away.”

“Let Him kiss me with the kiss of His mouth!” Songs of Solomon 1:2 [HAPPY EASTER]

The month of April is said to derive its name from the Latin verb aperio, which signifies to open, because all of the buds of blossoms are now opening, and we have arrived at the gates of the flowery year.

In beginning a new month, let us seek the same desires after our Lord as those which glowed in the heart of the elect spouse. See how she leaps at once to Him; there are no prefatory words; she does not even mention His name; she is in the heart of her theme at once, for she speaks of Him who was the only Him in the world to her.

How bold is her love! It was much condescension which permitted the weeping penitent to anoint His feet with spikenard – it was rich love which allowed the gentle Mary to sit at His feet and learn of Him – but here, love, strong, fervent love, aspires to higher tokens of regard, and closer signs of fellowship.

Esther trembled in the presence of Ahasuerus, but the spouse of joyful liberty of perfect love knows no fear. If we have received the same free spirit, we also may ask the like. By kisses we suppose to be intended those varied manifestations of affection by which the believer is made to enjoy the love of Jesus.

The kiss of reconciliation we enjoyed at our conversion; and it was sweet as honey dropping from the comb. The kiss of acceptance is still warm on our brow, and we know that He hath accepted our persons and our works through rich grace. The kiss of daily, communion; is that which we pant after to be repeated day after day, till it is changed into the kiss of reception, which removes the soul from earth, and the kiss of consummation which fills it with the joy of heaven.

Faith is the road, but communion with Jesus is the well from which the pilgrim drinks. O lover of our souls, be not strange to us; let the limps of Thy blessing meet the lips of our asking; let the lips of Thy fullness touch the lips of our need, and straightway the kiss will be effectuated.

Whether it is the thirst of avarice, ambition, pleasure, knowledge, or rest, whoever suffers from it is invited! “2013”

Provision is made most plenteously; all is provided that we can ever need to quench our soul’s thirst. To our conscience the atonement brings peace; to our understanding the gospel brings the richest instructions; to our hearts the person of Jesus is the noblest object of affection; to our entire being the truth as it is in Jesus supplies nutriment. Though the soul may be utterly famished, Jesus can restore it.

Admirable indeed is the longsuffering of the Savior in bearing with some of us year after year! Patience had her perfect work in the Lord Jesus, and until the last day of the feast He pleaded with the Jews, even as on this last day of the year He pleads with us, and waits to be gracious to us. Wonder of wonders that we are still in the land of mercy!

Piety expressed herself most plainly, for Jesus cried, which implies not only the loudness of His voice, but the tenderness of His tones. He entreats us to be reconciled. How deep must be the love which makes the Lord weeps over us, and like a mother, woo His children to His bosom! Surely at the call of such cry our willing hearts will come.

“Ask and it shall be given to you – Spiritual strength!”

“God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, or sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way. If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

Spiritual power is a force which history clearly teaches has been the greatest of force in the development of men and women. Yet we have been merely playing with it and never really studied it as we have the physical forces.

It is usually not so much the greatness of our trouble as the littleness of our spirit which makes us complain.”
