My Greatest Affliction!

MY AFFLICTION

[Repost From My Facebook November 27, 2011]

We can become able masters of the human heart, but only if we allow ourselves to be tutored in the school of “heart-felt” personal experience.

Kings have their troubles; the peasant has his cares; the wayfarer has many hardships; the Captain has his difficulties, and there were times when the dark valleys were too much for me, but thank God, “The Lord was my Shepherd!”

I was also tried in my friends and my counselors; they forsook me! They that ate my bread lifted up their heels against me, but my worst foes were that of my own household; my blood family; but especially my children, they were my greatest affliction.

The temptations of poverty and wealth, of honor and reproach, of health and sickness, all took a toll on me. The trials from without disturbed my peace, and from within, marred my joy. No sooner I escaped from one trial I fell into another; emerging from one season of despondency and alarm, I was again brought into the lowest depths, whilst simultaneously the waves of billows were rolling over me.

At the time, whatever my frame of mind, whatever ecstasy of depression, was the result of emotions propelled by incomprehensible deep hurt. Having been instructed in life’s personal experience, I have matured with God’s grace through the years, and with my Lord’s inexhaustible mercy, He placed me in “Green Pastures.” My soul, let my Lord’s grace continue to cheer and counsel thee,” this day!

To my Mom, Sabrina Fulton By Trayvon Martin!

[If Trayvon had lived, I believe he would write these words

To his graceful Mom, Ms. Sabrina Fulton]

Mom, for the clutch of pains that follow you

From your head down to your sole,

Wondering what life holds’ for you?

In the darkness of your world

Despite the pangs, Mom, do not complain

Even when you pine,

And though at times you may feel disdain

Please know, you are wholly Thine

Beyond this world of wrath and tears

I Loom from the Heavens’ above,

With freedom from pains or fears!

And the bounty of our Father’s love

So, in the midst of your circumstance

In the blessed evening shade,

Mom, live by faith and not by chance

Strong in heart and always, unafraid!

Ms. Sabrina Fullerton; I dedicate this Poem’s message to you, coupled with the amazing words so full of truth, written, so long ago.

“You must go back, then, a little way to the choice mercies of yesterday, and though all may be dark now, you must light up the lamps of the past. They shall glitter through the darkness, and you must continue to trust in the Lord, till the day break, and the shadows flee away.”

Guilt is the dark night in which the fair star of divine love shines with serene splendor!

Have you ever weighed and considered how great the sins of God’s people are? Think how heinous are our own transgressions, and we will find that not only does a sin here and there tower up like an alp, but that our iniquities are heaped upon each other, as in the old fable of the giants who piled Pelian upon Ossa – mountain upon mountain.

Consider the aggregate of sin there is in the life of one of the most sanctified of God’s children and attempt to multiply this, the sin of one only, by the multitude of the redeemed, “a number which no man can number,” and you will have some conception of the great mass of the guilt of the people for whom Jesus shed His Blood.

Angles cast their crowns before Him! All the choral symphonies of heaven surround His glorious throne, and yet, God took the form of a servant, and is scourged and pierced, bruised and torn, and at last slain; since nothing but the blood of the incarnate Son of God could make atonement for our offenses.

Therefore, the believer, even when sin rolls like a black flood, and the remembrance of the past is bitter, can yet stand before the blazing throne of the great and Holy God and cry, “Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died; yea rather, that had risen again.

While the recollection of our sins fills us with shame and sorrow, we at the same time make it a foil to show the brightness of God’s Mercy. Guilt is the dark night in which the fair star of divine love shines with serene splendor!

“Search me O God

And know my heart,

Try me and know my anxieties

See Lord, if there is any wicked way in me,

And lead me the way everlasting.”

(Psalm 139)

Nelson Mandela And The “Power of Forgiveness!”

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , on June 29, 2013 by sheriffali

By faith, I believe that Icon Nelson Mandela, will live for another quarter century as a gift from God to us.

I do not think that it is possible to convey the measure of Mr. Mandela’s hurt and despondency at any comprehensible human level. The hurt that Mandela suffered at the hands of his subjugators who may have vehemently propagated malfeasance out of arrogance and ignorance, may have seemed like perpetuity to Mandela. This type of hurt that embodies hopelessness, despair, anguish and the likes; can only really be felt by the sufferer and his Creator.

It seems apparent that Mr. Mandela had the foresight to look upwards with “blind faith” at these pivotal times, which allowed his fears of pestilence and dolorousness to be placated by God’s mercy and grace.

We should be ever so thankful this day for the blessings of God’s forgiveness that He imputed into Nelson Mandela that made Mr. Mandela, the person that he is!

And so, if we too would look upwards with “blind faith,” we may begin to understand the mysteries of God’s mercies that would allow us to see that today’s sorrows become tomorrows joy; today’s failures are tomorrows successes; today’s hate turns into tomorrows love, and all of our weaknesses are transformed into Samson’s like strength.

It is then we would come to realize that in the like manner that man uses fire to refine Gold, God does the same in refining His souls!
