The Democratic National Committee Has Told The Campaign Of Senator Bernie Sanders That It Was Suspending Its Access To Its Voter Database Of Hillary Clinton’s Private Campaign Data By One Of Bernie Sanders Staffer’s.

CRH DEC 18 15 - SANDERS 1

The Democratic National Committee has told the campaign of Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont that it was suspending its access to its voter database after a software error enabled at least one of his staff members to review Hillary Clinton’s private campaign data.

The decision by the party committee is a major blow to Mr. Sanders’s campaign. The database includes information from voters across the nation and is used by campaigns to set strategy, especially in the early voting states.

CRH DEC 18 15 - SANDERS 2

The breach occurred after a software problem at the technology company NGP VAN, which gives campaigns access to the voter data. The problem inadvertently made proprietary voter data of Mrs. Clinton’s campaign visible to others, according to party committee officials.

The Sanders campaign said that it had fired a staff member who breached Mrs. Clinton’s data. But according to three people with direct knowledge of the breach, there were four user accounts associated with the Sanders campaign that ran searches while the security of Mrs. Clinton’s data was compromised.

The Washington Post first reported the issue.

The suspension comes as Mr. Sanders prepares to face Mrs. Clinton at the Democratic debate on Saturday, and as he received the endorsement of a major union, the Communications Workers of America, and a liberal group on Thursday.

The Democratic committee blamed NGP VAN for the software glitch.

“This was an isolated incident, and we’re conducting a full audit to ensure the integrity of the system and reporting the findings to the D.N.C.,” Stu Trevelyan, NGP VAN’s chief executive, said.

Yearning To Be Free! 750,000 Refugees Resettled In America Since 9/11 And Not One Has Been Involved In Terrorism.

Republicans With Their Racism, Bigotry, Hate, Lies And Everything That Manifest Shamelessness Are Embarrassing Our Country In Front of The Whole World.

Let us be the America that was created at our “Birth” and developed and matured over the years, “Home of the Brave” and “Land of the Free!”

JOSEPH, an Egyptian Copt who now lives in Chicago, fled for his life when his apartment in Egypt was vandalized and his car set on fire. Three years ago he travelled to America with his family under the pretext of a business trip and applied for asylum.

His hearing at the Chicago Immigration Court, which was supposed to take place this month, has been postponed until February 2017. Joseph, who asked for his surname to remain anonymous in case he is sent back to Egypt, would like to go to university but cannot apply for financial aid as long as his case is pending; so he makes do by working as a cashier at a petrol station and as a taxi driver at night.

His case is not unusual: some asylum-seekers in Chicago have hearings scheduled for 2020. Half of them will be turned down.

Malignant Tumor – The Republican Party Invading Every Facet Of America And America’s 99%

The Republican Party Of Abraham Lincoln Is Dead And The Remnants That Have Taken Over Are Racists, Bigots, Misogynists, Advocating Policies Of Anti-Immigrants, Abolish Social Services, Ignore Education And Infrastructure And Give More To The 1%, Ignore Diplomacy And Send Americans To Fight And Die For A Military Complex That Have Spiral Out Of Control, That Benefits The Dick Cheney Of This World.

 DEBATE - GOP NOV 11 15 1 2

“Early on in last night’s debate, Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson was asked whether he’d support an increase in the minimum wage. The retired right-wing neurosurgeon began his answer by saying, “People need to be educated on the minimum wage,” which quickly became one of the more ironic comments of the evening.

“Every time we raise the minimum wage, the number of jobless people increases. It’s particularly a problem in the black community. Only 19.8 percent of black teenagers have a job, who are looking for one. You know, and that’s because of those high wages. If you lower those wages, that comes down.

“You know, I can remember, as a youngster – you know, my first job working in a laboratory as a lab assistant, and multiple other jobs. But I would not have gotten those jobs if someone had to pay me a large amount of money.”

The assertion that minimum wage increases are always followed by an increase in unemployment is wrong. Carson’s claim about unemployment among black teens is even further from the truth. And as for the minimum wage when Carson was younger, in 1975, when he was 24 years old, the minimum wage was $2.10 an hour – which is $9.29 when adjusted for inflation, more than two dollars above today’s wage floor.

It was, alas, that kind of event. There’s always considerable chatter about who “wins” or “loses” these debates – most pundits seem to think Marco Rubio excelled, though I’m starting to think some of them are just using a computer macro to save time – but there was one clear loser last night: reality.

At another point last night, Gerard Baker, the editor in chief of the Wall Street Journal, reminded Carly Fiorina, “In seven years under President Obama, the U.S. has added an average of 107,000 jobs a month. Under President Clinton, the economy added about 240,000 jobs a month. Under George W. Bush, it was only 13,000 a month. If you win the nomination, you’ll probably be facing a Democrat named Clinton. How are you going to respond to the claim that Democratic presidents are better at creating jobs than Republicans?”

If anything, Baker’s numbers were tilted in the GOP’s favor, since Obama’s totals are dragged down by including the early months of his presidency, when the economy was in free fall. Nevertheless, the point is accurate – since World War II, more jobs are created under Democratic presidents than Republicans – prompting Fiorina to reply, “Yes, problems have gotten much worse under Democrats.”

She’d just been reminded of the opposite, which made the exchange a little unnerving. I kept waiting for one of the candidates to drop the pretense and declare, “I reject this version of reality and replace it with one I like better.”

Around the same time last night, Marco Rubio insisted the United States is in the midst of “an economic downturn,” which is bonkers. The economy added over 270,000 jobs last month, the unemployment rate is down to 5%, and we have the strongest economy of any democracy on the planet.

Some dissembling is expected in events like these, and I hardly expect GOP presidential hopefuls to celebrate Obama-era progress, but for two hours last night, viewers were treated to a rare sight: a view of current events distorted by a funhouse mirror.

Towards the end of the evening, there was also this amazing exchange between Maria Bartiromo and Rand Paul:

BARTIROMO: Senator Paul, you were one of 15 republicans to vote for an amendment which states that human activity contributed to climate change. President Obama has announced an aggressive plan to cut carbon emissions. At the same time, energy production in America has boomed. Is it possible to continue this boom, and move toward energy self-sufficiency, while at the same time pursuing a meaningful climate change program?

PAUL: The first thing I would do as president is repeal the regulations that are hampering our energy that the president has put in place.

She had just noted that energy production has boomed in the Obama era, which led Rand Paul to denounce the regulations that have prevented a boom in energy production.

I can appreciate why “Presidential Candidates Lie To Win Votes” is a dog-bites-man headline, but last night wasn’t so much about dishonesty as it was about feeling stuck in a “Twilight Zone” episode. Jon Chait concluded,  “In a debate where chastened moderators avoided interruptions or follow-ups, the candidates were free to inhabit any alternate reality of their choosing, unperturbed by inconvenient facts.”

It was hard to know whether to be annoyed or terrified.” [Steve Benen]

Hillary Clinton’s Democratic Firewall To The Nomination – Endorsements! Hillary Clinton 56.4%: Bernie Sanders 0%: Jim Webb 0%: Martin O’Malley 0.4%: Joe Biden 1.2%:

Posted in 2016 Presidency, Endoresements, Hillary Firewall To The Nomination, Politics with tags , , , , , , , , , , on September 13, 2015 by sheriffali

Despite big daily polling movement by the Media knocking Hillary Clinton, she has a gigantic and growing lead in another key metric with a strong track record of influencing the nomination process: Endorsements from elected Democrats.

A 56 percent majority of Democratic governors, senators and U.S. House members have endorsed Clinton for president, according to data tracked by FiveThirtyEight.

No other candidate has a significant share of support from elected Democrats. Joe Biden has 1.2 percent support for a potential run, while 0.4 percent (a.k.a. one person) goes to former Maryland governor Martin O’Malley. Sanders have no endorsements at all.

Clinton’s endorsement advantage represents a major barricade against Sanders’s run as well as a potential bid by Biden. Endorsements are a key indicator of candidates’ standing in the “invisible primary” — the period before any caucuses and primaries in which candidates compete for the endorsement of party leaders, interest groups and activists. Endorsements provide a window into how the invisible primary is playing out, and most importantly, they have proven more predictive than early polls in how candidates eventually fare among voters in caucuses and primaries.

So how much does Clinton’s endorsement lead actually matter? “I believe her endorsement lead is the best possible insulation against challenges to her front-runner status,” said Cohen, an assistant professor at James Madison University. “When it comes to amassing delegates in the various state primaries and caucuses, those endorsements will provide her with the campaign infrastructure to turn out votes that should neutralize the efforts of her opponents.”

Turning back to the endorsement data collected by FiveThirtyEight; Three components of the endorsement race demonstrate Clinton’s strength. What’s fascinating about the data above is not just Clinton’s advantage – it’s big – but that she already has reached an absolute majority of endorsements among all potential endorsements. It’s September — five months before any actual voting. Even if Biden or Sanders rounded up every uncommitted Democratic senator, House member and governor, they would max out at 44 percent. Among elected Democrats who have endorsed anyone in the race so far, 97 percent have backed Clinton.

Secondly, Sanders hasn’t gained a single endorsement. His campaign seems to acknowledge this as a weakness; The Post’s John Wagner reported last month that Sanders plans to make a concerted pitch for his candidacy to Democratic leaders. Sanders is of course running as an anti-establishment candidate, and this metric’s focus on support from elected leaders doesn’t play to his strengths. Nonetheless, a lack of any establishment support signals the party — as in, basically power within it — is not rooting for his name on the ticket.

Thirdly, Clinton’s advantage is substantially larger than at this point in 2007, when Barack Obama was able to surge after winning the Iowa caucuses. Clinton held roughly one-third of all endorsement “points” tallied by FiveThirtyEight (giving governors and senators greater weight), while today she holds an outright majority. Her endorsement lead in 2008 was more vulnerable precisely because she had not locked up the public support of many Democrats by late 2007. This time around, most Democrats have already backed her. Justice Department Lawyers Confirmed To A Federal Court That Hillary Clinton’s Handling Of Her Emails Broke No Laws. They Also Told The Court That It Was Mrs. Clinton’s Right To Erase Private Emails From Both The Government And Her Private Server.

Posted in Blows Up, Politics, Republicans Witch Hunt with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on September 12, 2015 by sheriffali

Reality has bitten Republicans in the backsides again as the Justice Department is saying that Hillary Clinton’s emails broke no laws.

Justice Department lawyers argued before a federal court that Hillary Clinton’s handling of her emails broke no laws.

The Conservative Washington Times Reported:

In the most complete legal defense of Mrs. Clinton, Justice Department lawyers insisted they not only have no obligation, but no power, to go back and demand the former top diplomat turn over any documents she hasn’t already given — and neither, they said, can the court order that.

The defense came as part of a legal filing telling a judge why the administration shouldn’t be required to order Mrs. Clinton and her top aides to preserve all of their emails.

“There is no question that Secretary Clinton had authority to delete personal emails without agency supervision — she appropriately could have done so even if she were working on a government server,” the administration lawyers argued. “Under policies issued by both the National Archives and Records Administration (‘NARA’) and the State Department, individual officers and employees are permitted and expected to exercise judgment to determine what constitutes a federal record.”

Republicans like Donald Trump love to compare Hillary Clinton’s emails to the crimes that were committed by David Petraeus, but the difference is that Petraeus broke the law by giving classified material to his mistress.

The Republican email scandal is falling apart. If Clinton didn’t break any laws, why are Republicans wasting time and millions of taxpayer dollars investigating her emails? There is a reason Republicans would not allow Clinton’s aides to testify in public. Information is the enemy of the GOP’s bogus email scandal. The more information that is available to the public, the sooner the email scandal will fade away.

The email scandal is a media fueled time killer that only serves to distract attention from the real issues. Republicans don’t want to talk about their positions on the issues. They would rather try to distract the electorate with meaningless scandals.

Republicans can’t hide from the truth. There is nothing to the Hillary Clinton email scandal. [Politicususa]
