[WAPO] “In economics, as in life, things often take longer to happen than you think they will and then happen faster than you thought they could. So it may turn out with the catastrophic international economic policies of President Trump. It is possible that last week will be remembered as a hinge in history — a moment when the United States and the world started moving on a path away from the peace, prosperity and stability that have defined the past 75 years.

For all that has gone wrong in the past three-quarters of a century, this period has witnessed more human betterment than any time. The rate of fatalities in war has steadily declined, while growing integration has driven global growth and improvement in life expectancy and living standards. Progress is too slow, and not well enough shared, but Americans have never lived so well. This has been driven by remarkable developments in human thought, especially in science and technology, and a relatively stable global order that has been underwritten by the United States.

Will these trends continue? Optimists have suggested that despite the revanchist and often anti-rationalist rhetoric of his campaign, Trump has in the international sphere surrounded himself with rational establishment advisers and has either retreated or been stymied by Congress on proposals such as launching trade wars and building walls.

Until last week, they had a reasonable argument. No longer. We may have our first post-rational president. Trump has rejected the view of modern science on global climate change, embraced economic forecasts and trade theories outside the range of reputable opinion, and relied on the idea of alternative facts rather than evidence-based truth.

Even for conservative statesmen such as Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush and Henry Kissinger, the idea of a community of nations has been a commonplace. Come now H.R McMaster, national security adviser, and Gary Cohn, director of the National Economic Council, who have been held out as the president’s most rational, globally minded advisers.

They have taken to the Wall Street Journal to proclaim that “the world is not a global community” and advanced a theory of international relations not unlike the one that animated the British and French at Versailles at the end of World War I. On this view, the objective of international negotiation is not to establish a stable, peaceful system or to seek cooperation or to advance universal values through compromise, they wrote, but to strike better deals in “an arena where nations, nongovernmental organizations, and businesses compete for advantage.”

In service of this theory, the president in the past two weeks renounced any claim to U.S. moral leadership by failing to convincingly reaffirm traditional U.S. security commitments to NATO and abandoning participation in the Paris global climate agreement. The latter is probably our most consequential error since the Iraq War and may well be felt even longer.

There will be consequences to all of this, as there were to the pursuit of short-term advantage rather than systemic stability at Versailles. One does not need to subscribe to pessimistic versions of Graham Allison’s “Thucydides Trap” as it relates to worries about how China as a rising power may fill the vacuum left by the United States.

How, after the events of the past week, can U.S. adversaries and allies alike not follow German Chancellor Angela Merkel in concluding that the United States is now far less predictable and reliable? How can the responses be other than destabilizing?

It is essential that leaders in U.S. society signal clearly their disapproval of the course the administration is taking. History will judge poorly business leaders who retain positions on Trump administration advisory boards because they hope to be in a position to cut favorable deals. Elon Musk of Tesla and Robert Iger of Disney have taken the correct and principled stand by resigning their presidential appointments. More should follow.

What is to be done? The U.S. president is not America. The world will be watching to see whether Trump’s words and deeds represent an irrevocable turn in the nation’s approach to the world or a temporary aberration. The more that leading figures in U.S. society can signal their continuing commitment to reason, to common purpose with other nations, and to addressing global challenges, the more the damage can be contained. And, of course, Congress has a central role to play in preventing dangerous and destabilizing steps.”

Donald Trump Resizing U.S. Role As World Leader To The Size Of His Frigging Peanut Brain, Enabled By Republican Traitors

“Trump has been an awful disgusting, lying, corrupt thieving swindler all of his life and Trump has taken this vulgar crooked life into the White House. The only thing worse than Trump are the Top Republican Leaders and other Republicans in Congress that are enabling Trump to drag America into the same category as Nicaragua and Syria. Just Imagine, 194 Countries stands with the Paris Climate Accord and Donald Trump, backed up by many Republicans pulled America into a category of 3 countries rejecting perhaps the most significant World Agreement ever enacted.

It seems self evident that the only reason why Republicans are assisting Trump in dismantling America is because they are Neck Deep with Trump in the Russian Money Scandal. It is accurate to say that Republicans have chosen Corruption before Country!” [Sheriff Gerry Ali]

[Los Angeles Times] WASHINGTON — “President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the historic Paris climate accord is the most concrete sign yet that his “America first” approach to foreign policy has begun to disrupt the global order and ultimately could cede Washington’s dominant role on the world stage to China. For arguably the first time since Washington built a web of military, trade and diplomatic alliances from the ruins of World War II, and assumed sole superpower status after the Cold War, a president has thumbed his nose at virtually the entire world — allies and adversaries alike — to follow a go-it-alone strategy in international affairs.

Trump’s recent overseas trip left bruised feelings in Europe, especially after he failed to acknowledge the portion of the NATO charter that declares an attack on one member is an attack on all. It appeared a startling repudiation of staunch allies that invoked the charter to back U.S. troops in Afghanistan after the 2001 terrorist attacks. But his retreat on climate change — even if the commitments in the 194-nation Paris accord were voluntary and the U.S. already has cut emissions significantly thanks to shale gas technology and more efficient cars — clearly marks a new chapter in U.S. foreign policy, one likely to ripple around the world.” Open Los Angles Times Link For This Factual Amazing Article:

Donald Trump And Republicans Proclamation Of Take America Back

Meant 150 Years Backwards

Whether you are Republican, Democrat or Independent, if you are truly honest, President Donald Trump, the Trump Administration and the Republican Congress haven’t done a “Single Thing” for America or the American People in Trump’s First 100 days as President. Donald Trump and the Trump Administration enabled by the Republican Congress accomplishments in Trump’s first 100 days are factually – “ZERO.’

A small group of Racist White Men that includes Donald Trump, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and others are willing to take away Health Insurance from 24 Million Americans, solely to spite President Obama, “The Only African American President That Saved America From Bush, Cheney and the Republican disasters, and honestly speaking, Mr. Obama worked hard and was really good at his job as President of the United States.”

What type of people are these Republican Legislators that are taking American down into the Abyss, just to enhance their own wealth by making the Rich Richer and further destroying America’s Middle Class and the Vulnerable and without a doubt, “Literally Destroying America’s Once First Class Educational System.” Republicans perniciousness are centered solely on their Voter Base; people that are most of them “Uninformed, Ignorant, Uneducated and Brainwashed.

This is a pivotal moment in America’s great History as one of the World’s Greatest Country with a Foundation built on Democracy. Donald Trump and his Coconspirators, “The Republican Congress,” are daily destroying America’s way of life. Trump’s Travel Ban is one of the greatest embarrassment and destruction to America’s Trademark – “America The Land Of Immigrants.”

Donald Trump and the Republicans did not forget that America was built on Two Monumental Crimes; “The Genocide of the Native Americans and the forceful Enslavement of Blacks. This pivotal moment for America is that this destructive force, Trump and Republicans are in control of almost all of the Federal Government and they also control 32 States with Republican Governors.

Good has a way of coming out of Man’s evil and I can only hope that “Good From This Present Evil Will Be Sooner Than Later.” God help us all!

Donald Trump – MOAB= “Mother Of All Bankruptcies, 4.7 Billion Dollars.” Trump Has Spent His Whole Life As A Public Racist, Pathological Liar, Con Man, Racist And Certified Embezzler And As President, Nothing Has Changed!

There really isn’t anything good to say about Donald Trump because his “Public” life of Scandals has been before America and the world for all of Trump’s adult life, 50 plus years and how and why Trump sits in the Oval Office is solely due to America’s Education Problem, people voting against their own interest.

Donald Trump’s own words and deeds prove he has been and continues to be a “vulgar, nasty, hateful, ongoing liar and crook. In Trump’s 85 days as President he has taken 17 Trips to his Properties and has had 14 Golf Vacations. Republicans that always screamed when President Obama seldom took a vacation or played Golf, they have turned a blind eye to Donald Trump, enabling him to violate and shame the Office of the Presidency.

Trump has violated the Nepotism, Emolument, Conflict of Interest Laws and just about everything when it comes to the Constitution of the United States and with each passing day, Donald Trump and the Republican Congress are destroying the very Foundation that made America Great – “American Democracy.”

At 70 Trump has gone from Embezzling Investors to Embezzling The American Tax Payers and the Democrats are helpless in stopping him being the minority Party in both the Senate and the House. Republicans who control just about every aspect of the Federal Government and 32 States, they the GOP and Donald Trump is – “Indivisible.”

America’s biggest problem is not Donald Trump and the Republican Party, but the 62 Million people that voted Trump and the GOP in 2016. Most of them are uninformed, ignorant, uneducated and brainwashed. When you as a person vote against that of your own interest and your children, this proves America’s real problem is Education. The only assistance Republicans give to their constituents is “A Gun In One Hand And The Bible In The Other.” Just how different are the Republican Legislators from the Mullahs in the Middle East and the fanatics that kill in the name of their Religion?

How we stop this Run Away Train from going off the cliff and turning America into a Banana Republic, is anyone’s guess!

Senator Mitch McConnell’s Wife Elaine Chao’s Father Caught Operating a Cargo Ship with 90 Pounds of Cocaine. Elaine Chao McConnell is now Donald Trump’s Secretary of Transportation

[The Nation]Before the Ping May, a rusty cargo vessel, could disembark from the port of Santa Marta en route to the Netherlands in late August, Colombian inspectors boarded the boat and made a discovery. Hidden in the ship’s chain locker, amidst its load of coal bound for Europe, were approximately 40 kilograms, or about ninety pounds, of cocaine. A Colombian Coast Guard official told The Nation that there is an ongoing investigation.

The seizure of the narcotics shipment in the Caribbean port occurred far away from Kentucky, the state in which Senator Mitch McConnell is now facing a career-defining election. But the Republican Senate minority leader has the closest of ties to the owner of the Ping May, the vessel containing the illicit materials: the Foremost Maritime Corporation, a firm founded and owned by McConnell’s in-laws, the Chao family.

Though Foremost has played a pivotal role in McConnell’s life, bestowing the senator with most of his personal wealth and generating thousands in donations to his campaign committees, the drug bust went unnoticed in Kentucky, where every bit of McConnell-related news has generated fodder for the campaign trail. That’s because, like many international shipping companies, Chao’s firm is shrouded from public view, concealing its identity and limiting its legal liability through an array of tax shelters and foreign registrations. Registered through a limited liability company in the Marshall Islands, the Ping May flies the Liberian flag.

McConnell’s ties to the Chaos go back to the late 1980s, when James Chao began donating to the senator. In 1993, McConnell married James’s daughter, Elaine Chao, a Republican activist and former Reagan administration official who would later serve as secretary of labor in the George W. Bush cabinet. James Chao emigrated to the United States from Taiwan, and founded the Foremost Maritime Corporation upon settling in New York. The company has grown significantly over the years, from acting as maritime agent during the Vietnam War to controlling a fleet of approximately sixteen dry-bulk cargo ships in operation today.

Donald Trump Enabled By Republicans Publicity Stunts Aren’t Policy, They Are Extremely Dangerous To America

Donald Trump, Mike Pence, Mitch McConnell And Paul Ryan, Are More Dangerous To America Than All Countries And Every Terrorists Group Combined, Because These Four Are Dismantling America From The Inside.

[NYT] “In other words, showy actions that win a news cycle or two are no substitute for actual, coherent policies. Indeed, their main lasting effect can be to squander a government’s credibility. Which brings us to last week’s missile strike on Syria.

The attack instantly transformed news coverage of the Trump administration. Suddenly stories about infighting and dysfunction were replaced with screaming headlines about the president’s toughness and footage of Tomahawk launches.

But outside its effect on the news cycle, how much did the strike actually accomplish? A few hours after the attack, Syrian warplanes were taking off from the same airfield, and airstrikes resumed on the town where use of poison gas provoked Mr. Trump into action. No doubt the Assad forces took some real losses, but there’s no reason to believe that a one-time action will have any effect on the course of Syria’s civil war.

In fact, if last week’s action was the end of the story, the eventual effect may well be to strengthen the Assad regime — Look, they stood up to a superpower! — and weaken American credibility. To achieve any lasting result, Mr. Trump would have to get involved on a sustained basis in Syria.

Does anyone still remember the Carrier deal? Back in December President-elect Donald Trump announced, triumphantly, that he had reached a deal with the air-conditioner manufacturer to keep 1,100 jobs in America rather than moving them to Mexico. And the media spent days celebrating the achievement.

Actually, the number of jobs involved was more like 700, but who’s counting? Around 75,000 U.S. workers are laid off or fired every working day, so a few hundred here or there hardly matter for the overall picture.

Whatever Mr. Trump did or didn’t achieve with Carrier, the real question was whether he would take steps to make a lasting difference.

So far, he hasn’t; there isn’t even the vague outline of a real Trumpist jobs policy. And corporations and investors seem to have decided that the Carrier deal was all show, no substance, that for all his protectionist rhetoric Mr. Trump is a paper tiger in practice. After pausing briefly, the ongoing move of manufacturing to Mexico has resumed, while the Mexican peso, whose value is a barometer of expected U.S. trade policy, has recovered almost all its post-November losses. Starting With Michael Flynn Donald Trump’s Rattle Snakes Are Beginning To Commit Political Suicide!

Posted in United States with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on March 31, 2017 by sheriffali

AAA 1-222

Hillary Clinton Most Certainly Gets The Last Laugh. At The GOP 2016 Convention Michael Flynn Led The Chant – “Lock Her UP,” And Here Is Flynn Now Seeking Immunity For Testimony When He Should Be Seeking “Protective Custody.”

Donald Trump is just a Con Man, Liar, Thief and a Bragger, but Vladimir Putin is unequivocally a Killer! Just count the number of Putin’s Former Associates, Diplomats and Oppositions that have been killed over the past 3 months.

The Honest US Officials that are seeking objectively for the truth about Trump and his Campaign Ties to Vladimir Putin and Russia, they should know that Vladimir Putin kills with impunity across the board. Putin is a brutal Dictator, but as opposed to Braggadocio Trump, Putin is no fool. Putin went from Head of The KGB to Prime Minister of Russia to President, then to Prime Minister again and after rigging the Russian Constitution and the Russian Election, Putin is again President and this time for as long as Vladimir Putin is alive.

One has to be totally foolish to think that it is impossible for Vladimir Putin to be indirectly  “Controlling”  Trump’s White House, but if you have any clue as to who and what Putin is, nothing stands in his way. Trump on the other hand is just a common thief, liar, bragger and a money hungry, immoral man. Past that, Donald Trump is absolutely nothing!

[NYT] — “Michael T. Flynn, the former national security adviser, has offered to be interviewed by House and Senate investigators who are examining the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia in exchange for immunity from prosecution, according to his lawyer and a congressional official.

But the congressional official said investigators were unwilling to broker a deal with Mr. Flynn — who resigned last month for misleading White House officials about his contacts with Russia’s ambassador to the United States — until they are further along in their inquiries and they better understand what information Mr. Flynn might offer as part of a deal.

In a statement on Thursday evening, Mr. Flynn’s lawyer confirmed discussions with the House and Senate intelligence committees about possible testimony by his client. The lawyer, Robert Kelner, did not provide specifics about the terms under which Mr. Flynn would testify, but said that “no reasonable person, who has the benefit of advice from counsel, would submit to questioning in such a highly politicized, witch-hunt environment without assurances against unfair prosecution.”

“General Flynn certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it, should circumstances permit,” the statement said.”
