{The Iran Deal Problem} A President’s Intelligence Contrasting Warmongers In The Repugnant, Republican, GOP Party..

President Obama was well into his feisty and freewheeling news conference on the Iran nuclear deal when Major Garrett of CBS News got under the presidential skin.

“As you well know, there are four Americans in Iran, three held on trumped-up charges,” Garrett said. “Can you tell the country, sir, why you are content, with all the fanfare around this deal, to leave the conscience of this nation, the strength of this nation, unaccounted for in relation to these four Americans?”

The normally cool president reacted slowly, as though trying to control his anger.

“The notion that I am content — as I celebrate — with American citizens languishing in Iranian jails?” Obama asked, icily. “That’s nonsense, and you should know better.” After that extraordinary scolding, the president went on to explain that he didn’t link the American captives to nuclear talks because doing so may have made Iran think “we can get additional concessions out of the Americans,” and would have made it “much more difficult for us to walk away” from a deal.

Garrett’s question, though loaded, was legitimate; one of those being held on bogus charges in Iran is Jason Rezaian, The Washington Post’s Tehran bureau chief. And Obama’s answer was revealing: Full of Sturm und Drang, he ultimately acknowledged that the United States just doesn’t have the clout to enforce its will.

This was an undercurrent of the whole news conference Wednesday afternoon, and of Obama’s overall defense of the Iran deal. He was tough and strong, but in service of the argument that American power is limited — that this is the best deal we could get with our declining leverage. His defenders call it realism; it also may amount to ratifying retreat.

Obama took on those who said a better deal would have stripped Iran of all nuclear capability. “The problem with that position is that there is nobody who thinks that Iran would or could ever accept that, and the international community does not take the view that Iran can’t have a peaceful nuclear program,” he said. “And so we don’t have diplomatic leverage.”

As for those who argue for continued economic sanctions? Obama said that sanctions “required the cooperation of countries all around the world, many of whom really want to purchase oil from Iran.” If they saw the United States walking away from a deal, “the sanctions system unravels,” he said, and “we have lost credibility in the eyes of the world.”

He positioned the nuclear deal as the work of a nation trying to triage its problems in global affairs. “The argument,” he said, “that because this deal does not solve all those other problems, that’s an argument for rejecting this deal, defies logic . . . and it loses sight of what was our original number one priority, which is making sure that they don’t have a bomb.”

Broadly, Obama offered his view that “it’s not the job of the president of the United States to solve every problem in the Middle East,” and he said he couldn’t end the Syrian civil war without “buy in” from Russia and Iran. He acknowledged that the nuclear deal might mean more money for Hezbollah, but said, “Is that more important than preventing Iran from getting a nuclear weapon? No.”

Even when the news conference took a brief detour into domestic issues — revoking Bill Cosby’s Presidential Medal of Freedom — Obama spoke of powerlessness. “There is no precedent for revoking a medal,” he said. “We don’t have that mechanism.”

A couple of dozen seats at the news conference were empty, so a smaller-than-usual crowd got to see the rare spectacle of Obama going off script. After finishing his list of pre-selected questioners (and posing a few questions to himself about various objections to the deal), he opened the floor to all comers. “Have we exhausted Iran questions here?” he asked. “I really am enjoying this Iran debate.”

There’s little that Obama’s Republican critics in Congress can do about the deal other than vote their symbolic disapproval, and the president seemed to be speaking as much for the history books as for contemporary critics, using phrases such as “historic chance” and “future generations.” But mostly what came through was a defense of what future historians may describe as the Obama doctrine: an America that recognizes the limits of its power and acts less ambitiously.

“No one suggests that this deal resolves all the threats that Iran poses to its neighbors or the world,” he said, returning repeatedly to the argument that none of his critics has “presented to me or the American people a better alternative.”

He’s right. And this is why it was, sadly, a powerful case — for American weakness. [Dana Milbank Washington Post]

Fact-Checking Site Proves Just How Good President Obama Has been For America.

So When Republicans Say That President Obama Has Been The “Worst President In History,” They Are Clearly Throwing Red-Meat To Their Uninformed, Brainwashed Gullible Crowd!

[Source Forward Progress]

Following His annual State of the Union speech, many Republicans have been quite critical of the supposed” arrogance” President Obama displayed while giving his address. Then again, what’s new? Republicans have been trying to paint the President as arrogant and “out of touch” for years.

But with all recent SOTU address speeches, Fact-Checking Organizations usually work overtime in an attempt to investigate whether or not what the President said during his speech was factually correct. And this year was no different.

And when it comes to the “Truth-O-Meter” over at Politifact, President Obama’s SOTU scored extremely high marks for accuracy and truth.

When he said that America is number one in the wind power, that was rated as “Mostly True” with the only caveat being that China technically has the capacity to produce more wind power, but we convert more of it into electricity.

Then there was when the President said we are creating more jobs than at any other time since 1999, Politifact rated that 100 percent “True.” We all remember 1999, right? You know, the last time we had a Democrat in the White House.

FACT CHECKING ORGANAZATIONS PROVES OBAMA GOOD FOR USA

The Nobel Prize-winning economist, once one of the president’s most notable critics, on why Obama is a historic success. By Paul Krugman | October 8, 2014 Rolling Stone Magazine

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on October 10, 2014 by sheriffali

When it comes to Barack Obama, I’ve always been out of sync. Back in 2008, when many liberals were wildly enthusiastic about his candidacy and his press was strongly favorable, I was skeptical. I worried that he was naive, that his talk about transcending the political divide was a dangerous illusion given the unyielding extremism of the modern American right. Furthermore, it seemed clear to me that, far from being the transformational figure his supporters imagined, he was rather conventional-minded:

Even before taking office, he showed signs of paying far too much attention to what some of us would later take to calling Very Serious People, people who regarded cutting budget deficits and a willingness to slash Social Security as the very essence of political virtue.

And I wasn’t wrong. Obama was indeed naive: He faced scorched-earth Republican opposition from Day One, and it took him years to start dealing with that opposition realistically. Furthermore, he came perilously close to doing terrible things to the U.S. safety net in pursuit of a budget Grand Bargain; we were saved from significant cuts to Social Security and a rise in the Medicare age only by Republican greed, the GOP’s unwillingness to make even token concessions.

But now the shoe is on the other foot: Obama faces trash talk left, right and center – literally – and doesn’t deserve it. Despite bitter opposition, despite having come close to self-inflicted disaster, Obama has emerged as one of the most consequential and, yes, successful presidents in American history. His health reform is imperfect but still a huge step forward – and it’s working better than anyone expected. Financial reform fell far short of what should have happened, but it’s much more effective than you’d think. Economic management has been half-crippled by Republican obstruction, but has nonetheless been much better than in other advanced countries. And environmental policy is starting to look like it could be a major legacy.

BARACK OBAMA - PAUL KRUGMAN - 2

Megyn Kelly and Fox News, Republicans and their Trolls spend their night and day, casting blame on President Obama for the world that was turned upside down by Bush and Cheney.

George W Bush and Dick Cheney capsized the stability of the world and it is going to take a decade or two before the world is again, right side up!

Megyn Kelly, Fox News and Republicans Preaching Jesus and claiming to be Patriots while being bankrupt of both! Spending their night and day, yes, night and day, blaming President Obama for all that ails America, while claiming that they are not racists, they just seem to have a different standard for a 50% Black President.

Obama by no means is a perfect man, but then again, we are all fallible and imperfect, however, as a person who is the CEO of an International Company that operates in over a dozen countries, I can attest to the fact that we in America are a long way from the doom and gloom we were tossed into by the previous Administration.

The American people on the other hand are justified in their majority reluctance to be involved with any war, but then at the same time they too blame Obama for the instability of the World. We must not fail to forget that a great majority of the American people are just plain uninformed, brainwashed or are divided by Political Party, Ideology and frankly, just plain ignorant. 83% didn’t have a clue where Ukraine is located, many thought it was within one of the States inside of America, imagine that for a moment.

We are the only country in the world where Six [6] major Corporations own the 1,500 News Papers; 1,100 Magazines; 9,000 Radio Stations; 1,500 Television Stations and the 2,400 Publishers.

News Anchors and News Hosts no longer have a mind of their own, they bow to their Corporate Masters, some bend all the way and others bend a little less. Nevertheless, the News, be it Television, Print or Radio they are about creating commotion, pitting one against the other to increase viewership that enhances their advertising and their Corporate Bosses laugh all the way to the Bank, while 98% of Americans are killing each other verbally out of just plain stupidity.

The Media; The American People; President Obama and the use of faulty Polling; Eric Cantor is a good example; he was supposed to win by 34% according to “every Poll.”

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 2, 2014 by sheriffali

Poll released today said 33% of Americans think Obama is the worst President since World War 11. Who are these people? Who are the Pollsters Polling?

Gallup published several reports stating that since Cell Phones have far out-paced Land-Lines, it is difficult to obtain any realistic data, because most of the people with Land-Lines are over 60. And, we are fully cognizant that older whites vote Republicans, hence, one has to wonder who the Pollsters are calling. To prove Gallup’s point the Polls all of them predicted that Eric Cantor was going to win by 34 points minimum and we know what has happened to that prediction.

In the like manner that the Republican Congress have been an obstacle to President Obama, willfully using deceitful tactics, it is self evident that the Media that employ educated people are aware that the Polling is worthless, but the Media use faulty Polls to create friction and commotion. ABC has as a guest almost every week on their Sunday show “This Week,” the most arrogant and obnoxious person Bill Crystal and he isn’t the only one. I have stopped looking at that show because Bill Crystal has never given this President any credit for anything and he is always promulgating phantasmagoric rationales and internecine narcissism.

I think it is beyond any reasonable thinking person that are informed, not uninformed, to realize where we were when George W. Bush left Office. We were a country on the verge of Bankruptcy; two badly managed wars; the housing market totally crashed; the stock market, Dow were under 7,000; more than ten million people had lost their jobs and yes to be quite frank, we were in deep and unforgiving waters.

Setting aside partisanship if that is possible for some, you can’t help but see where we are today. 9.6 million Jobs created since Obama took office; the housing market has rebounded; today the Dow closed at 16,976 and the S & P and NASDAQ are also at record highs; our financial Institutions are on sound footing and it seem apparent that the Jobs report that would be published on Thursday because Friday is a Holiday, will reflect in excess of 281,000 jobs created for the month of June.

Obama ended the senseless Iraq War and is ending the 13 years we have been in Afghanistan and he didn’t get us into the dozen or more countries that the Republicans were and is still promulgating.

The News Media and by News Media I mean all of them, Television, Radio and Print, they no longer report the News to the Public, what they all do at the behest of their Corporate Owners is to “render their opinions” to one of the largest number in History of Americans that are uninformed, ignorant and brainwashed. The Media never speaks about race when race is front and center of the Obama Presidency. All one has to do is look at the Trolls on the Facebook, Google Plus, Twitter and others and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to ascertain that the disenchantment many have with Obama comes from the Media, Republican Legislators and both, never seem to report anything good that this President has done.

When Bill Moyers asked President Lyndon B. Johnson “Why do Middle-Class and Poor Republicans vote against their best interest?” President Johnson responded; “If you take the lowest white man and convince him that he is better than the best black man, he wouldn’t know you are picking his pocket. Hell, give him someone to look down on and he will empty his pockets for you.” President Johnson’s words may seem like a long time ago, but it is most relevant today, especially when it comes to the Republican Party and their uninformed, ignorant and brainwashed base.

LYNDON B JOHNSON - PRESIDENT OBAMA - RACE JUNE 21 14 - 1

Some in the GOP and FOX NEWS continued drum-beat to Impeach President Obama is all about Obama being 50% African American!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 22, 2014 by sheriffali

Republican Politicians, Fox News and their “Trolls” have a difficult time seeing a 50% Black Man, his Wife and Two Children “living in their WHITE HOUSE.”

President Obama graduated from Harvard Magna Cum Laude; The GOP and Fox should explain what that means to their “Trolls” that constantly call Obama; dumb; stupid; the worst President ever, in order that the Trolls understand who is really the “dumb one.”

Most people know that to impeach any President the House of Representatives have to establish that President Obama committed Fraud, Bribery, Perjury and High Crimes and Misdemeanors. In 1998 64% of Americans were opposed to the House impeaching former President Bill Clinton, however, the House went ahead and did impeach Clinton, but the measure that requires 67 Senators to sanctioned the impeachment in order to remove Clinton, failed in the Senate. Even some Republicans in the House and the Senate were against such a move.

The right-wing rouges that call themselves Congressional Leaders would perhaps most certainly take such a risk; however, the more stable Republicans in the House and in the Senate, their reluctance would be that “they might be opening up a can of worms.”

One fact that is certain, if Republicans had proof that President Obama had committed Fraud, Bribery, Perjury, High Crimes and Misdemeanors, the actual impeachment process would have taken place, rather than the “empty can with the marble inside making the impeachment noise.”
