Using Executive Order On Immigration, Obama Would Reverse Long-Held Stance![NYT]

Mr. Obama has effectively reversed his position and now said he believes that such actions can be “legally unassailable,” as a senior White House official put it last week. Mr. Obama is expected to announce plans soon to expand the program for Dreamers to shield up to five million people from deportation and provide work permits for many of them.

The president insisted over the weekend that he had not changed his position. During a news conference in Australia, the president said that his earlier answers about the limits of his executive authority were prompted by people who asked him whether he could enact, by fiat, a bipartisan immigration bill that had passed the Senate, which would have provided a path to legalization for more of the 11 million unauthorized people in the United States.

“Getting a comprehensive deal of the sort that is in the Senate legislation, for example, does extend beyond my legal authorities,” Mr. Obama said Sunday. “There are certain things I cannot do.”

In fact, most of the questions that were posed to the president over the past several years were about the very thing that he is expected to announce within a matter of days: whether he could do something to reduce deportations and keep families together if Congress would not act.

The president was pressed on that very issue during a Google Hangout in February 2013. An activist asked whether he could do more to keep families from being “broken apart” while Congress remained gridlocked on immigration legislation.

“This is something that I have struggled with throughout my presidency,” Mr. Obama said. “The problem is, is that I’m the president of the United States, I’m not the emperor of the United States. My job is to execute laws that are passed.”

Officials have said the president could announce a series of executive actions as early as this week. The move comes after a concerted lobbying campaign by immigration advocates demanding presidential action in the face of 400,000 deportations every year. And it reflects the president’s mounting frustration that Republicans have blocked all efforts to pass immigration legislation.

At the news conference in Australia over the weekend, Mr. Obama implored Congress to pass a bill that would secure the border, revamp the legal immigration system and legalize many of the 11 million unauthorized immigrants living in the United States.

“Give me a bill that addresses those issues,” Mr. Obama said at the conclusion of the G-20 summit in Brisbane, Australia. “I’ll be the first one to sign it and, metaphorically, I’ll crumple up whatever executive actions that we take and we’ll toss them in the wastebasket.”

White House officials said they did not believe that Republicans, who will control both chambers in Congress next year, have any intention of passing a bill that the president could sign. They note that Mr. Obama delayed any executive action throughout 2013 and 2014, hoping that Speaker John A. Boehner would allow a vote in the House on a bipartisan bill that passed the Senate.

When that did not happen by the summer, officials said, Mr. Obama decided he should act on his own.

That decision puts the president in a drastically different posture than the one he took in numerous interviews and speeches since 2010. In those settings, Mr. Obama was repeatedly urged to act on his own to reduce the number of families that were being separated by deportations. In each of the appearances, he rejected the idea and urged people to pressure Republicans in Congress to pass a bill.

A Terrorist Horror, Then Golf: Incongruity Fuels Obama Critics

Critics are pouncing on Obama for returning to playing Golf after he paid tribute to James Foley. On the right is George W Bush at the White House Correspondence Dinner 2006, joking and pretending to be looking for Weapons of Mass Destruction, three years into his misguided Iraq War when thousands of Americans had lost their lives. Republicans, some Democrats and The Media, are serious Hypocrites.

“WASHINGTON — He had just hung up the telephone with the devastated parents before heading in front of the cameras. Unusually emotional, President Obama declared himself “heartbroken” by the brutal murder of an American journalist, James Foley, and vowed to “be relentless” against Islamic radicals threatening to kill another American.

But as soon as the cameras went off, Mr. Obama headed to his favorite golf course on Martha’s Vineyard, where he is on vacation, seemingly able to put the savagery out of his mind. He spent the rest of the afternoon on the links even as a firestorm of criticism erupted over what many saw as a callous indifference to the slaughter he had just condemned.

Presidents learn to wall off their feelings and compartmentalize their lives. They deal in death one moment and seek mental and physical relief the next. To make coldhearted decisions in the best interest of the country and manage the burdens of perhaps the most stressful job on the planet, current and former White House officials said, a president must guard against becoming consumed by the emotions of the situations they confront. And few presidents have been known more for cool, emotional detachment than Mr. Obama.” [NYT]

[Republicans and Fox News and Children At The Border] Former President George W. Bush on December 23, 2008 signed into law – “Trafficking Victims Reauthorization Authorization Act.”

The Bipartisan Bill that Mr. Bush signed, Mandates Illegal Aliens Children be transferred to the Office of Refugee Resettlement within 24 hours of setting foot on American Soil or as soon as reasonable possible.

It begs the question that for all the commotion created by Republicans and Fox News, why they haven’t made any mention as to why the Federal Government must follow the Law that was enacted by a Republican President that had Bipartisan support.

I think it is reasonable to ascertain the reason why Republicans and Fox News willfully doesn’t provide the details of the refugee Children. Hence, a reasonable rationale would be that Republicans feed Red-Meat to their Constituencies to maintain their base and Fox News does the same to maintain their uninformed, ignorant, brainwashed audience!

Notice carefully that the Republicans and Fox News that are blaming President Obama for the influx of Children and are protesting verbally and in person are people that call themselves Christians and Patriots. I wonder if they ever thought to ask the question, “what would Christ want them to do with these children? “

In the final analysis, these Right Wing Republicans and their Mouth-Piece, Fox News, are Christians without Christ and Patriots totally bankrupt of Patriotism.

Benghazi in perspective: Reagan 7 attacks 94 Dead; Bush 13 attacks 60 Dead; Obama 1 attack 4 Dead!

Going on two years the Republicans and their followers having been beating Benghazi like a Mexican Piñata and it is beyond any doubt that they are fully cognizant of the record of Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush and President Obama. In the case of Reagan he sent hundreds of Marines to Lebanon with orders not to keep their Rifles loaded. A lunatic with a pick-up-truck loaded with explosives, rammed the gates and in a single incident killed more than 243 Marines. Reagan subsequently brought the remainder of the Marines home.

And we must never ever forget that thoughtless Bush invaded Iraq and we lost thousands of Soldiers; tens of thousands were severely injured and more than seventy five thousand are left with mental problems. What was our gain? All we did was replace a Sunni Dictator with a Shiite Dictator who cast his lot with Iran. The cost to the American Tax Payers stands at 1.7 Trillion Dollars.

Republicans and the right wing talking head Pundits have and continue to criticize Obama over his foreign Policy. Obama withdrew us out of Iraq and by year’s end we would be out of Afghanistan. Ask the American people, “they are adamant that they do not want us to be involved with any war, unless absolutely necessary.”

On Twitter, the washed-up actor James Woods embellishes in wanting Justice for Benghazi. Just what does James Woods know about anything having to do with foreign Policy? Even George W. Bush in 2008 knew his limitations and that was self evident when Putin invaded a section of Georgia and former President George W. Bush left it alone.

As far as the Ukraine situation Sanctions are really the only viable options at this time and thus far, the United States and the European Union have placed Sanctions on Russia and as of this morning President Obama announced further Sanctions. People are wondering why Obama doesn’t target Vladimir Putin directly and the reason I believe is that Obama is smart enough to know that closing all the doors on Putin with no exit at this time, could very well escalate this manageable crisis into something much larger. In addition, Europe is our biggest trading Partners and Obama must remain mindful of that fact.

Like the crazy idiot in Nevada, Cliven Bundy, Republicans are all Hat and no Cattle, or another way to put it; they are all mouth and no brains!
