Republican Opponents Of The Iran Deal Are The Same People That Still Advocate Invading Iraq Was A Good Thing. Meanwhile, General Colin Powell Fully Supports The Iran Agreement

Posted in Iran, Peace, Politics, War with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on September 10, 2015 by sheriffali

Republican Colin Powell, former National Security Adviser, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and former Secretary of State support the Iran Deal.  He revealed his support in fairly laudatory terms on Meet the Press.

Here’s the summary:

It’s a pretty good deal… I know there are objections to it, but here’s why I think it’s a good deal,” the former Secretary of State said. He continued, “One of the great concerns that the opposition has that we are leaving open a ‘lane’ for the Iranians to go back to creating a nuclear weapon in 10-15 years are forgetting the reality that they have been on a superhighway for the last ten years to create a nuclear weapon or nuclear weapons program with no speed limit.”

And while Dick Cheney Tried to ignore the reality that under the Bush Administration Iran went from 0 Centrifuges to 5,000, Colin Powell was not ignoring reality.

“In the last ten years they’ve gone from 136 centrifuges up to something like 19,000 centrifuges.” That is something Republicans never talk about. Powell pointed out, “This agreement will take them down to 5,000 cent all of this will be under IAEA supervision and I think this is a good outcome.”

“They had stockpiled something in the neighborhood of 12,000 kilograms of uranium. This deal will bring it down to 300 kilograms,” Powell said. “It’s a remarkable reduction. I’m amazed that they would do this but they have done it.” [Daily Kos]

Federal Judge Strikes Down Restrictive Texas Abortion Law Dealing A Blow To GOP Hypocrites

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 29, 2014 by sheriffali

Republicans are absolute and unequivocal hypocrites. They create so much commotion about how every life is precious and fight for the “unborn,” however, once the child is born and with even more zest, they fight to deprive children from Food Stamps; Education and recently, Rick Perry have gone as far sending Armed KKK’s with AK-15 Rifles to the Texas Border to scare Refugee Children. How anyone in the Middle-Class or Poor can vote for the these people, it is way beyond my ability to comprehend.

A federal judge in Austin, Tex., on Friday blocked a stringent new rule that would have forced more than half the state’s remaining abortion clinics to close.

The rule, requiring all abortion clinics to meet the building standards of hospital-style surgery centers, was set to take effect on Monday. But in his opinion, Judge Lee Yeakel of the United States District Court in Austin said that the mandate placed an unconstitutional burden on a women’s right to an abortion.

“We are extremely pleased by Judge Yeakel’s ruling today,” said Amy Hagstrom Miller, chief executive of Whole Woman’s Health, which operates abortion clinics in the state and was a plaintiff in the suit.

“As he clearly states in his decision, requiring every abortion clinic to turn into a surgical center is excessive and not based on good medicine,” Ms. Hagstrom Miller said.

A spokeswoman for the Texas attorney general, Lauren Bean, said the state “disagrees with the court’s ruling and will seek immediate relief from the Fifth Circuit, which has already upheld H.B. 2 once.”

Last year, Judge Yeakel blocked another provision of the 2013 law — a requirement that doctors performing abortions obtain admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of a clinic — but the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, in New Orleans, reversed his decision, ruling that because women in Texas were still within driving distance of clinics, the rule did not impose an “undue burden.”

The latest decision follows a string of recent legal victories across the South for abortion rights advocates, as federal courts have blocked measures that would have forced the closing of the only abortion clinic in Mississippi and three of five clinics in Alabama.

Republicans Endorse Heavily Armed Men Attempting To Wage War With The U.S. Government; America’s real enemy – Republicans, Religion, Tea Party, Fox, Guns and Wars…

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 13, 2014 by sheriffali

A fantasy is a situation imagined by an individual or group which does not correspond with reality, but expresses certain desires or aims of its creator(s). Fantasy is not unlike little kiddies playing make believe where they pretend or imagine things are different than they really are and imitate something that is real; such as when small children pretending they are grown-up army men with an enemy to kill. Since Americans elected an African American man as President, a group of childish men fantasized they are either living in 1776 fighting the government to preserve their freedom, or mobilizing to wage war against a foreign army invading America’s borders.

The children pretending they are revolutionary war heroes protecting the U.S. Constitution have been amassing their imaginary army on the Southern border to battle the influx of refugee children fleeing violence in Central America. These make-believe warriors have the express consent and blessing of Texas Republicans who love the idea of armed vigilantes wanting to “point their guns dead at children, right between the eyes, and say get back across the border or you will be shot.” The seriousness of the issue is the make-believe army men are not children, they are heavily armed, and not only do they want to shoot child refugees, they want to wage war against the government.

Two Texas Republicans, gubernatorial candidate Gregg Abbott and state Representative Doug Miller claimed that the armed militias “have a right to be there to help ranchers and owners keep illegals coming onto their property.” A couple of weeks ago after a dozen Texas Democrats sickened by the armed threats against child refugees penned a letter to Abbott imploring him to “denounce the actions of these militia groups and clarify the jurisdiction these militia groups have to patrol alongside local law enforcement and Border Patrol agents,” Abbott did what one expects from a Texas Republican; claimed the Democrats’ letter was a “partisan political stunt” because Abbott has absolutely no problem with heavily armed vigilantes threatening refugee children.

The armed militias Abbott will not denounce and Miller claims have every right to play army are a dangerous combination of so-called Oathkeepers and members of the “Three Percenters Club.” Besides being make-believe border guards, both groups are “paranoid anti-government conspiracy freaks” and proven “potentially violent gun activists” who think supporting and defending the United States Constitution is threatening the government and confronting children at the border. However, like most children living in a fantasy, neither group can elucidate how amassing at the border heavily-armed or threatening the government is “defending and supporting the Constitution.”

The Oathkeepers claim they, like every public school teacher, swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic; “and meant it.” The Oathkeepers warn of government officials planning to “disarm the American people, confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies, and blockade American cities thus turning them into giant concentration camps.” There is no truth to their claims, but that is precisely why they live in a fantasy world; their claims are imaginary. What Oathkeepers cannot say, is where in the Constitution it tells them to lock and load to confront brown children at the border, commit seditious conspiracy against a United States agency (Bureau of Land Management), or aim their guns at federal officials executing a court order to “start the second revolutionary war.”

According to Vanderboegh, “We intend to maintain our God-given natural rights to liberty and property, and that means most especially the right to keep and bear arms. We are committed to the restoration of the Founders’ Republic, and are willing to fight, die and, if forced by any would-be oppressor, kill in the defense of ourselves and the Constitution that we all took an oath to uphold against enemies foreign and domestic. The collectivists (Charles Koch’s name for non-conservatives) who now control the government should leave us alone if they wish to continue unfettered oxygen consumption. Attempt to further oppress us at your peril and WATCH WHAT HAPPENS.”

The Three Percenters, like the Oathkeepers, are part of the mindset that joined Cliven Bundy to start the second revolutionary war against the United States because they support and defend the Constitution. The Constitution, by the way, that gave two federal courts power to order federal officials to prevent Bundy from trespassing on federal land. Like the situation in Texas where Republicans support armed vigilantism at the border, Republicans supported Bundy and his play soldiers praising them as patriots who had “a right to be there ‘helping’ a rancher keep ‘illegals’ (federal officers) from coming onto” the U.S. government’s land.

These so-called Constitution supporters’ fantasy that it is their job to take on the role of border patrol agents, or threaten violence against the United States government, although childish, is dangerous and every bit as much the fault of Republicans as the traitors arming up against the government and children. Republicans sounded a clarion call to defend the border from “ebola infested” children with terrorist ties invading America because there is a midterm election looming, and spent the past five-and-a-half years warning of an overreaching government seizing their guns and subverting their freedom; even though there have been no gun safety laws passed since 1995, and ebola is unique to the African continent, not Central America. Republicans have perpetuated the fantasy that America is facing an existential threat since 2009, and it informs the real reason so-called defenders of the Constitution are taking up arms against the government is because they hate democracy that allowed the people to elect an African American man to occupy the White House. Those two elections drove their fantasy that they are in revolutionary war against America and child immigrants.

Everything about the armed militias plaguing America is borne of their fantasy belief that they have been assaulted because the people elected a Black man as President. They cannot possibly support and defend the Constitution because the fantasy document they support is not remotely related to the real Constitution any more than arming up against child refugees and the federal government is being a patriot. A child’s imagination, fantasies, and make believe is a wonder to behold, but when grown men that should be holding down a real job instead of fantasizing they are in a revolutionary war against the United States government and use firearms to confront refugee children, their fantasy makes the traitors against America and cowards for laying in wait for child refugees fleeing violence in Central America. Democrat Rails Against Republicans Threatening Unarmed Children With Armed Militias

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 2, 2014 by sheriffali

Even Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) knows“These children were brought here of no accord of their own.” The Speaker isn’t a fan of the kind of racism dished out by Republicans like Steve King, but he’s been unable to overcome it policy wise. Republicans like to call themselves the pro-family and pro-life party, but nothing could be more disturbingly further from the truth based on their stand against innocent children.

Republicans have vowed to obstruct President Obama at every turn, and they have been ordered by the Heritage Foundationto gin up false scandals against the President instead of legislating. They have done these things for political reasons, but as they move against innocent children, they are taking their hatred too far.

  1. Grace F. Napolitano (CA-32) shamed Republicans for trying to eliminate the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program Friday evening issuing a statement, even as Republicans pontificated from the safety of the House floor, blaming President Obama for their failure to legislate.

Napolitano wrote:

“One day after failing to address the humanitarian crisis on our southwest border, our Republican colleagues voted today to remove critical protections for refugees of violence and eliminate the successful DACA program. Thousands of unaccompanied children who have fled violence and threats in their home countries are being met at our southwest border by armed militias.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops states:

It is a sad day for our country. A chamber of Congress is poised to send vulnerable children back to danger and possible death. It violates our commitment to human rights and due process of the law and lessens us as a nation. I pray that this legislation never sees the light of day.

We agree. We must address the root causes of migration, not punish these vulnerable and innocent children. Our federal agencies are running out of funding to deal with this unfortunate situation, so we need action now to provide the necessary resources, ensuring protections and due process of our law.

Despite their claims to support our young DREAMers, today’s action on DACA proves Republicans have been working to eliminate it. DACA has been a tremendous success, expanding access to education, employment, and security to hundreds of thousands of young people educated in the U.S who have known no other country. We stand with these courageous DREAMers who deserve our support. My colleagues and I will continue to fight for total immigration reform.

In an August 1, 2014 letter, the Bishops urged the defeat of the GOP bill:

I write to reaffirm the opposition of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) to H.R. 5230 and express our opposition to H.R. 5232.

Our opposition to H.R. 5230 stems from four troubling aspects of the measure. First, it would make crippling changes to current U.S. trafficking victim protection law that we fear would send these vulnerable children… Second, it would not provide adequate funding for the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) to enable it to care for vulnerable unaccompanied children in U.S. custody. Third, its level of funding for ORR is so low that it would severely hamper the agency’s ability to fulfill its responsibility to care for refugees, asylum seekers, special immigrants, trafficking victims, and torture victims. And fourth, the measure contains no provisions to address the root causes that have compelled so many children to make the arduous journey from their homes in Central America to the United States and elsewhere in the region.

Our opposition to H.R. 5232 stems from its elimination of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. It is our view that this program has helped protect a vulnerable group of children who for all extensive purposes are Americans. It would subject them once again to removal to countries they do not know. We urge its defeat.

How our nation responds to this humanitarian challenge is a moral test of our national character. We ask that you oppose H.R. 5230 and H.R. 5232, which we feel fail to live up to that test. [Politicususa; Salon]

Megyn Kelly and Fox News, Republicans and their Trolls spend their night and day, casting blame on President Obama for the world that was turned upside down by Bush and Cheney.

George W Bush and Dick Cheney capsized the stability of the world and it is going to take a decade or two before the world is again, right side up!

Megyn Kelly, Fox News and Republicans Preaching Jesus and claiming to be Patriots while being bankrupt of both! Spending their night and day, yes, night and day, blaming President Obama for all that ails America, while claiming that they are not racists, they just seem to have a different standard for a 50% Black President.

Obama by no means is a perfect man, but then again, we are all fallible and imperfect, however, as a person who is the CEO of an International Company that operates in over a dozen countries, I can attest to the fact that we in America are a long way from the doom and gloom we were tossed into by the previous Administration.

The American people on the other hand are justified in their majority reluctance to be involved with any war, but then at the same time they too blame Obama for the instability of the World. We must not fail to forget that a great majority of the American people are just plain uninformed, brainwashed or are divided by Political Party, Ideology and frankly, just plain ignorant. 83% didn’t have a clue where Ukraine is located, many thought it was within one of the States inside of America, imagine that for a moment.

We are the only country in the world where Six [6] major Corporations own the 1,500 News Papers; 1,100 Magazines; 9,000 Radio Stations; 1,500 Television Stations and the 2,400 Publishers.

News Anchors and News Hosts no longer have a mind of their own, they bow to their Corporate Masters, some bend all the way and others bend a little less. Nevertheless, the News, be it Television, Print or Radio they are about creating commotion, pitting one against the other to increase viewership that enhances their advertising and their Corporate Bosses laugh all the way to the Bank, while 98% of Americans are killing each other verbally out of just plain stupidity.

John Bolton, Former Ambassador under George W Bush spent $14,000.00 on Twitter Ads Bashing Obama

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 24, 2014 by sheriffali

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton, a Republican who said he is mulling a run for president in 2016, is a somewhat ubiquitous presence for politicos on Twitter.

The Washington Post documented in July how users who search for terms like “GOP” or even just “politics” on Twitter are greeted with ads from Bolton blasting President Barack Obama’s foreign policy. For example, Business Insider just did a Twitter search for “Benghazi” and was presented with ads featuring surveys asking if Israel is justified in its conflict with Hamas and if we agree that “Iran is taking America to the cleaners.”

These ads weren’t free. According to the July federal campaign finance filings, Bolton’s PAC spent $30,000 on online advertising and his super PAC spent another $20,000. Of that total, $14,353 went to Twitter ads, Bolton spokesman Garrett Marquis told Business Insider.

We must never forget that John Bolton along with Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Condoleezza Rice and others in the Bush gang are the people that that got us into Iraq and the badly mismanaged war in Afghanistan at a cost of thousands of American lives, in excess of 50,129 wounded at a cost of 5.1 trillion dollars to date.

Republicans and Fox News slams President Obama 24/7 while idolizing Vladimir Putin – the Incarnate Stalin. Imagine, Americans that are so hell bent on wanting Obama to falter at the cost of America, they worship the killer of the 298 people that were killed on the Malaysian Flight!

Fox News Hosts and their Republican Guests contracted Political Mouth Syphilis!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 21, 2014 by sheriffali

Fox News’ Hosts and their Republican Guests certainly have Political Mouth Syphilis and is the result of their political environmental influences; hence the congeniality of their infection was acquired from their collective possessiveness of being obsessive with President Obama.

The exploding and imploding Middle East is the direct result of Bush and Cheney’s Invasion of Iraq and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to ascertain that fact. Republicans and Fox News have and continue to blame President Obama for the disarray that has festered in the Middle East since our invasion of Iraq.

However, let us deal with facts and not phantasmagoric rationales and internecine narcissism. Illinois State Senator Barack Obama in 2002 position about invading Iraq, is certainly one for the History Books and it should be viewed very objectively, because whether you are Pro-Obama or Anti-Obama, what he said in 2002, has come to full fruition.

“I know that even a successful war against Iraq will require a U.S. occupation of undetermined length, at undetermined cost, with undetermined consequences. I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong International support will only fan the flames of the Middle East, and encourage the worst, rather than the best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of al-Qaida. I am not opposed to all wars. I’m opposed to dumb wars.” Illinois State Senator Barack Obama 2002.

In that very short paragraph as articulated by then State Senator Obama, we would have to be profoundly dishonest to say that what Obama stated in 2002 has not only come to pass, but we that it continues with no end in sight. And, for those that are hell-bent on President Obama sending American troops into that civil and religious fracas, they haven’t learned anything from the devastation we brought unto ourselves and to the world, when we invaded Iraq in 2003.

Who could have guessed that the GOP [Grand Old Party] on our 238th Birthday would have turned into Gruesome Obnoxious Psychopaths?

They are Holding the Country Hostage to their arrogance, intolerance, racism, discrimination, non-domestic agenda and their Seditiousness, inciting Anarchy that is creating Criminal Minded Gun Toting Anarchist with Gun Violence taking the lives of 40 Americans every day.

Republicans have nothing to offer in the way of Jobs, Education, Infrastructure, hence the reason why they are preying of their base by misusing the Second Amendment and hate, while picking the pockets of the Middle-Class and Poor Republicans, that are uninformed, ignorant and brainwashed.

Whether you are Republican or Democrat, if you are not in the top 5% income bracket, Republican Legislators do not care about you. Vote out the GOP from Control of the House of Representatives in November, if not for you, do it for your children and your beloved America.

Set aside partisanship if you can and ask yourself, “What has the Republican Congress done for you since retaking Control of the House of Representatives in 2010?” The Republican Senators went as far as blocking a 21 Billion Veterans Bill claiming that it wasn’t paid for, and at the same time asking for 600 billion in Tax Breaks for big business that  would have to be put on America’s Credit Card just like they did the 5.1 trillion dollars they indebted us with for the two mismanaged Wars, one of them Iraq, that had no justification, took the lives of 4,500 Americans, wounded 50,159 and killed over 500,000 Iraqis.

If John McCain in 2008 or Mitt Romney in 2012 had won the Presidency instead of President Obama, I guarantee we would be in at least six or more countries fighting other people Civil and Religious Wars.

“We the People,” this is not the time for petty differences about Republicans or Democrats, it is time to be an American First and do what is right for America. Don’t just accept Cable News as gospel because it is not and don’t just accept what your Congressional Representatives tell you, check out  the facts, verify it, the information is available and easier to access than anytime before.

Republicans “racism” against President Obama has reached fever pitch in planned Lawsuit!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 26, 2014 by sheriffali

Rather than do their jobs, John Boehner and his Republican Colleagues is planning to sue President Obama for doing his Job. The GOP openly “racism” against the President is self evident how farther yet we must travel to end discrimination in America.

“WASHINGTON — Speaker John A. Boehner announced Wednesday that he would introduce legislation next month allowing the House to sue President Obama over his use of executive actions.

In a letter to lawmakers, Mr. Boehner expressed concern with what he — and many in the Republican conference — considered the president’s unconstitutional overreach.

“The Constitution makes it clear that a president’s job is to faithfully execute the laws; in my view, the president has not faithfully executed the laws,” Mr. Boehner told reporters. “And when there’s conflicts like this between the legislative branch and the administrative branch it’s, in my view, our responsibility to stand up for this institution in which we serve.”

Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, the Democratic leader, called Mr. Boehner’s move “subterfuge,” and Josh Earnest, the White House press secretary, said that “it seems that Republicans have shifted their opposition into a higher gear.”

Mr. Boehner said the bill would allow the House to file suit through the House general counsel and at the direction of the chamber’s Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group. In 2011, Mr. Boehner convened the group after the White House decided it would stop defending the Defense of Marriage Act, which prevented same-sex couples who were married under their state’s laws from receiving federal marriage benefits. The House eventually spent $2.3 million defending that law, but the Supreme Court struck it down as unconstitutional last year.

The president has used his executive authority to carry out key elements of his second-term agenda, like halting the deportation of young illegal immigrants brought to the country by their parents as children, raising the minimum wage for employees of federal contractors, and allowing the Environmental Protection Agency to curb carbon emissions from coal plants.

Mr. Boehner said the lawsuit would not be a prelude to impeachment proceedings, and was not an attempt to rally the Republican base before the midterm elections.” [NYT]

Legislating Ignorance About Guns And The NRA Puppets In Congress

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 16, 2014 by sheriffali

And if pro-gun members of Congress continue to have their way, it will stay that way.

“Eighteen months and dozens of school shootings after the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., public-health experts still lack basic information on the roots of gun violence and how best to prevent it.

In 1996, at the behest of the National Rifle Association, Congress effectively barred federally financed research on gun violence. After Newtown,President Obama called for an end to the ban and asked Congress to provide $10 million to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to study gun violence. He also included the $10 million request in his recent budget proposal to Congress. In addition, Democrats in the House and Senate have introduced legislation authorizing appropriators to provide funding.

Recently, however, Representative Jack Kingston, a Republican of Georgia and leader of the House subcommittee that sets the C.D.C. budget, toldProPublica that “the president’s request to fund propaganda for his gun-grabbing initiatives through the C.D.C. will not be included in the FY2015 appropriations bill.” Mr. Kingston does not have the last word; the full appropriations committee has yet to finalize the C.D.C. budget. But his stance does not bode well for gun-violence research or for science-based policy making more broadly.

The aim of such research is the same as research into any other health threat, like car crashes or smoking: to use scientific methods to chart the dimensions of a threat, identify remedies and address the problem collaboratively.

That is a different approach from one that views gun violence through the lens of law enforcement or mental health. And that is one reason the gun lobby and its toadies in Congress oppose it. It is potentially transformative, in the way that norms, behaviors and laws involving drunken driving and smoking have been transformed.

Questions that could usefully be examined were detailed in a report last year by experts convened by the federal Institute of Medicine at the request of the C.D.C. For example, the experts called for research comparing the probabilities of thwarting a crime with a gun with the probabilities of injuring a family member or committing suicide. Such data could upend the notion that guns are necessary for personal safety.

The report also suggested that research into mass shootings that actually occurred and those that were prevented could challenge that notion that mass shootings are inevitable in an open society. Other recommended research would examine how young people acquire and use guns, as well as the relative effectiveness of various gun-violence prevention strategies.

The price of ignorance on those and other questions is measured in tens of thousands of preventable deaths and avoidable injuries from guns, year in and year out. Compared with that, $10 million for the C.D.C. to study the problem and propose solutions would be a small price to pay. [NYT]
