Texas Big On Extremism, Religion And Guns But Last In Education, Health Care, Poverty And The Necessities To Help Its Citizens To Have A Better Life

AUSTIN — The Texas Senate has given its final approval to a bill that would allow licensed gun permit holders to openly carry handguns, sending the bill to the House.

Tuesday’s 20-10 vote in the Senate comes on the heels of Monday’s 20-11 vote to approve Senate Bill 17, which would make open carry legal for those with a concealed handgun license.

The bill would allow concealed handgun license holders to display their guns in shoulder or belt holsters.

Texas is one of six states — California, Florida, Illinois, New York and South Carolina — along with Washington, D.C., to prohibit open carry. According to OpenCarry.org, 14 states require a permit or license to open carry; 30 states allow open carry without a permit or a license, and in some cases the gun must be unloaded.

Texas easily has the most gun-friendly reputation. From manufacturers to dealers, Texas has the most federal firearms license holders in the country. It has few restrictions on gun ownership, and the state has actively lobbied gun makers to move to the state.

Texas also allows the public display of long guns, such as rifles and shotguns, and open carry advocates have staged high-profile rallies at the Alamo and state Capitol. Concealed handguns are allowed inside the Capitol, where license holders can bypass metal detectors.

Federal Judge Strikes Down Restrictive Texas Abortion Law Dealing A Blow To GOP Hypocrites

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 29, 2014 by sheriffali

Republicans are absolute and unequivocal hypocrites. They create so much commotion about how every life is precious and fight for the “unborn,” however, once the child is born and with even more zest, they fight to deprive children from Food Stamps; Education and recently, Rick Perry have gone as far sending Armed KKK’s with AK-15 Rifles to the Texas Border to scare Refugee Children. How anyone in the Middle-Class or Poor can vote for the these people, it is way beyond my ability to comprehend.

A federal judge in Austin, Tex., on Friday blocked a stringent new rule that would have forced more than half the state’s remaining abortion clinics to close.

The rule, requiring all abortion clinics to meet the building standards of hospital-style surgery centers, was set to take effect on Monday. But in his opinion, Judge Lee Yeakel of the United States District Court in Austin said that the mandate placed an unconstitutional burden on a women’s right to an abortion.

“We are extremely pleased by Judge Yeakel’s ruling today,” said Amy Hagstrom Miller, chief executive of Whole Woman’s Health, which operates abortion clinics in the state and was a plaintiff in the suit.

“As he clearly states in his decision, requiring every abortion clinic to turn into a surgical center is excessive and not based on good medicine,” Ms. Hagstrom Miller said.

A spokeswoman for the Texas attorney general, Lauren Bean, said the state “disagrees with the court’s ruling and will seek immediate relief from the Fifth Circuit, which has already upheld H.B. 2 once.”

Last year, Judge Yeakel blocked another provision of the 2013 law — a requirement that doctors performing abortions obtain admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of a clinic — but the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, in New Orleans, reversed his decision, ruling that because women in Texas were still within driving distance of clinics, the rule did not impose an “undue burden.”

The latest decision follows a string of recent legal victories across the South for abortion rights advocates, as federal courts have blocked measures that would have forced the closing of the only abortion clinic in Mississippi and three of five clinics in Alabama.

Gov. Rick Perry of Texas Is Indicted on Charge of Abuse of Power

AUSTIN, Tex. — A grand jury indicted Gov. Rick Perry on two felony counts on Friday, charging that he abused his power last year when he tried to pressure the district attorney here, a Democrat, to step down by threatening to cut off state financing to her office.

The indictment left Mr. Perry, a Republican, the first Texas governor in nearly 100 years to face criminal charges and presented a major roadblock to his presidential ambitions at the very time that he had been showing signs of making a comeback.

Grand jurors in Travis County charged Mr. Perry with abusing his official capacity and coercing a public servant, according to Michael McCrum, the special prosecutor assigned to the case.

The long-simmering case has centered on Mr. Perry’s veto power as governor. His critics asserted that he used that power as leverage to try to get an elected official — Rosemary Lehmberg, the district attorney in Travis County — to step down after her arrest on a drunken-driving charge last year. Ms. Lehmberg is Austin’s top prosecutor and oversees a powerful public corruption unit that investigates state, local and federal officials; its work led to the 2005 indictment of a former Republican congressman, Tom DeLay, on charges of violating campaign finance laws.

Following Ms. Lehmberg’s arrest, Mr. Perry and his aides threatened to veto $7.5 million in state funding for the public corruption unit in her office unless she resigned. The governor followed through on his threat, vetoing the money by stating that he could not support “continued state funding for an office with statewide jurisdiction at a time when the person charged with ultimate responsibility of that unit has lost the public’s confidence.”

Mr. Perry’s detractors said that his moves crossed the line from hardball politics to criminal acts that violated state laws. His aides denied that he did anything wrong and said that he acted in accordance with the veto power granted to every governor under the Texas Constitution. Ms. Lehmberg did not resign and remains in office.

The criminal indictment of the state’s chief executive shocked the Texas political world. Mr. Perry will be arraigned at a later date at the county criminal courthouse a few blocks from the governor’s mansion.

Mr. McCrum said it was a matter of procedure that anyone charged with a felony “will have to be booked in,” including the governor. Asked if Mr. Perry would have to have a mug shot taken and be fingerprinted, he added, “I imagine that’s included in that.”

The charge of abuse of official capacity carries a prison sentence of five to 99 years, and the charge of coercion of a public servant a two- to 10-year prison sentence.

Republicans Endorse Heavily Armed Men Attempting To Wage War With The U.S. Government; America’s real enemy – Republicans, Religion, Tea Party, Fox, Guns and Wars…

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 13, 2014 by sheriffali

A fantasy is a situation imagined by an individual or group which does not correspond with reality, but expresses certain desires or aims of its creator(s). Fantasy is not unlike little kiddies playing make believe where they pretend or imagine things are different than they really are and imitate something that is real; such as when small children pretending they are grown-up army men with an enemy to kill. Since Americans elected an African American man as President, a group of childish men fantasized they are either living in 1776 fighting the government to preserve their freedom, or mobilizing to wage war against a foreign army invading America’s borders.

The children pretending they are revolutionary war heroes protecting the U.S. Constitution have been amassing their imaginary army on the Southern border to battle the influx of refugee children fleeing violence in Central America. These make-believe warriors have the express consent and blessing of Texas Republicans who love the idea of armed vigilantes wanting to “point their guns dead at children, right between the eyes, and say get back across the border or you will be shot.” The seriousness of the issue is the make-believe army men are not children, they are heavily armed, and not only do they want to shoot child refugees, they want to wage war against the government.

Two Texas Republicans, gubernatorial candidate Gregg Abbott and state Representative Doug Miller claimed that the armed militias “have a right to be there to help ranchers and owners keep illegals coming onto their property.” A couple of weeks ago after a dozen Texas Democrats sickened by the armed threats against child refugees penned a letter to Abbott imploring him to “denounce the actions of these militia groups and clarify the jurisdiction these militia groups have to patrol alongside local law enforcement and Border Patrol agents,” Abbott did what one expects from a Texas Republican; claimed the Democrats’ letter was a “partisan political stunt” because Abbott has absolutely no problem with heavily armed vigilantes threatening refugee children.

The armed militias Abbott will not denounce and Miller claims have every right to play army are a dangerous combination of so-called Oathkeepers and members of the “Three Percenters Club.” Besides being make-believe border guards, both groups are “paranoid anti-government conspiracy freaks” and proven “potentially violent gun activists” who think supporting and defending the United States Constitution is threatening the government and confronting children at the border. However, like most children living in a fantasy, neither group can elucidate how amassing at the border heavily-armed or threatening the government is “defending and supporting the Constitution.”

The Oathkeepers claim they, like every public school teacher, swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic; “and meant it.” The Oathkeepers warn of government officials planning to “disarm the American people, confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies, and blockade American cities thus turning them into giant concentration camps.” There is no truth to their claims, but that is precisely why they live in a fantasy world; their claims are imaginary. What Oathkeepers cannot say, is where in the Constitution it tells them to lock and load to confront brown children at the border, commit seditious conspiracy against a United States agency (Bureau of Land Management), or aim their guns at federal officials executing a court order to “start the second revolutionary war.”

According to Vanderboegh, “We intend to maintain our God-given natural rights to liberty and property, and that means most especially the right to keep and bear arms. We are committed to the restoration of the Founders’ Republic, and are willing to fight, die and, if forced by any would-be oppressor, kill in the defense of ourselves and the Constitution that we all took an oath to uphold against enemies foreign and domestic. The collectivists (Charles Koch’s name for non-conservatives) who now control the government should leave us alone if they wish to continue unfettered oxygen consumption. Attempt to further oppress us at your peril and WATCH WHAT HAPPENS.”

The Three Percenters, like the Oathkeepers, are part of the mindset that joined Cliven Bundy to start the second revolutionary war against the United States because they support and defend the Constitution. The Constitution, by the way, that gave two federal courts power to order federal officials to prevent Bundy from trespassing on federal land. Like the situation in Texas where Republicans support armed vigilantism at the border, Republicans supported Bundy and his play soldiers praising them as patriots who had “a right to be there ‘helping’ a rancher keep ‘illegals’ (federal officers) from coming onto” the U.S. government’s land.

These so-called Constitution supporters’ fantasy that it is their job to take on the role of border patrol agents, or threaten violence against the United States government, although childish, is dangerous and every bit as much the fault of Republicans as the traitors arming up against the government and children. Republicans sounded a clarion call to defend the border from “ebola infested” children with terrorist ties invading America because there is a midterm election looming, and spent the past five-and-a-half years warning of an overreaching government seizing their guns and subverting their freedom; even though there have been no gun safety laws passed since 1995, and ebola is unique to the African continent, not Central America. Republicans have perpetuated the fantasy that America is facing an existential threat since 2009, and it informs the real reason so-called defenders of the Constitution are taking up arms against the government is because they hate democracy that allowed the people to elect an African American man to occupy the White House. Those two elections drove their fantasy that they are in revolutionary war against America and child immigrants.

Everything about the armed militias plaguing America is borne of their fantasy belief that they have been assaulted because the people elected a Black man as President. They cannot possibly support and defend the Constitution because the fantasy document they support is not remotely related to the real Constitution any more than arming up against child refugees and the federal government is being a patriot. A child’s imagination, fantasies, and make believe is a wonder to behold, but when grown men that should be holding down a real job instead of fantasizing they are in a revolutionary war against the United States government and use firearms to confront refugee children, their fantasy makes the traitors against America and cowards for laying in wait for child refugees fleeing violence in Central America. Rick Perry, FOCK NEWS and July 9, 2014 meeting between President Obama and Governor Perry, Texas Border Problems

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 10, 2014 by sheriffali

Republicans are the Party of Do Nothing except to use every opportunity to run over President Obama for all that ails America, irrespective of Laws that exist prior to Mr. Obama becoming President.

On Wednesday July 09, 2014 Rick Perry met with the President over the Border Crisis regarding the refugee children. Subsequent to the meeting Obama held a short News Conference and he never said “one” bad word about Rick Perry. Obama said he asked Rick Perry to speak with the Texas Republican Caucus to Vote for the Bill that would help to placate some of the problems from the present situation.

On the other hand, Gun Toting Rick Perry dashed over to FOCK NEWS to lambast the President that was in total contradiction of what others said about the meeting that was present. Why and what makes Republicans so obnoxious about this President? It is difficult for many to comprehend the level of hate and bigotry towards President Obama by Republicans and Murdoch’s Fox News, if it can really be sanctioned as a News Agency or an Obama hate machine.

Former President George W. Bush on December 23, 2008 signed into law – “Trafficking Victims Reauthorization Authorization Act.”

The Bipartisan Bill that Mr. Bush signed, Mandates Illegal Aliens Children be transferred to the Office of Refugee Resettlement within 24 hours of setting foot on American Soil or as soon as reasonable possible. This is the Law as it stands at the moment and unless and until it changes, if President Obama does not follow the law he would be in violation of a Law passed with bipartisan support in both Houses of Congress and signed by President Bush.

Where are the facts from Fox News, Republicans and even some Democrats that are blaming President Obama for conditions that manifested itself from Laws passed by Congress, signed by the previous President and adhered to by Obama?

Lone Star Crazy: How Right Wing Extremists took over Texas

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 1, 2014 by sheriffali

In today’s Texas, which is falling into the hands of Gun-Nuts, Border-Sealers and talk-radio charlatans, George W Bush would practically be considered a communist.

By Mark Binelli

July 1, 2014 9:00 AM ET

Jimmy Smith’s ranch sits on the Texas side of the Texas-Oklahoma border, in a little town called Burkburnett, named after a wolf-hunting buddy of Teddy Roosevelt’s. In 1918, a local farmer discovered oil on his land, and the population soared from 1,500 to 15,000 in a single year, inspiring a Clark Gable movie, Boom Town.

Rick Perry: The Best Little Whore In Texas

Those days have long passed. As I drive along the lonely dirt road wending through Smith’s property, the only Texas movie that comes to mind is the one about chain-saw massacres. I pass junked cars, barns in various states of collapse, cattle skulls dangling from iron gates, rusted metal drums of indeterminate purpose, no sign of human activity. The scene could have almost evoked nostalgia for some lost cowboy era, had it not been for the men with assault rifles guarding the main entrance. I was driving a rental car, a red Prius, in hindsight not the greatest choice for first impressions. But I waved, they nodded, and I kept driving.

The road eventually opened onto a clearing, where about 300 people milled about, eating barbecue, parked in folding campfire chairs, watching a band set up on a large professional stage. If nearly everyone present hadn’t also been heavily armed, it would have felt like a low-key rock festival. A guy in a polo shirt and stonewashed jeans, sipping from a Big Gulp, walks by with a scoped rifle on his back. A woman wearing a mesh Lane Bryant top, a semiautomatic hanging from a shoulder strap, stands beside a bored-looking six-year-old poking around in the dirt with a stick.

The Gathering of the American Patriot, as the event was called, took place on Memorial Day weekend – though you quickly got the sense that the patriotism being displayed was tethered primarily, perhaps exclusively, to the Republic of Texas. Lone Star flags greatly outnumbered the American kind, and a group of bikers hung out near a long white banner decorated with a pointing Uncle Sam and the words OBAMA YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT.

A burly, bearded man with an M-15 over one shoulder and an SKS rifle over the other introduces himself to me only as “Wolf,” before adding cheerfully, “but everyone calls me the Redneck Jew.” Wolf has a Star of David tattooed on his shoulder and a verse from the Torah written in Hebrew on his back. He’s retired military, originally from southeast Texas – so close to Louisiana that his accent sounds almost Cajun – and he’s wearing a JEWISH HEROES OF THE CONFEDERACY muscle shirt celebrating Judah Benjamin. When I ask who Judah Benjamin was, Wolf gazes at me with thinly veiled disgust.

“Secretary of war under the Confederacy. You don’t know that?” Wolf shakes his head morosely. “Most Jews don’t know that. Most Jews don’t know what the Yankees did to us during the Civil War. And now everyone hates us for this gun-control thing. But we’re not all like Bloomberg. Don’t put us all in the same cattle car!” [Rolling Stone Magazine]

AMERICA - TEXAS EXTREMISTS - GUN NUTS

Robert Gates decimated President Black, but left unscathed the THREE WEHRMACHT that created the problems; George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on January 8, 2014 by sheriffali

Robert Gates served as Secretary of Defense for George W. Bush for two years and during that time, one has to ask, what did he do with his Texas Buddy to bring us out of the horrible situation Bush and Cheney lead us into. Yes, the Afghanistan War was necessary, but America’s two idiots at the time, George W. Bush and Dick Cheney left a small force in Afghanistan to go and invade Iraq. We were in Afghanistan a little over one year and did not accomplish anything and these two most treasonous President and Vice President, took us into a second war that was perhaps more ill advised that when we went into Vietnam.

“A new report by the “Cost of War” project at Brown University’s Watson Institute for International Studies finds that nearly 200,000 people, including soldiers and civilians, were killed in the war in Iraq President George W. Bush launched 10 years ago.

The report also found that American taxpayers will ultimately spend roughly $2.2 trillion on the war, but because the U.S. government borrowed to finance the conflict, interest payments through the year 2053 means that the total bill could reach nearly $4 trillion.

“Nearly every government that goes to war underestimates its duration, neglects to tally all the costs, and overestimates the political objectives that will be accomplished by war’s violence,” said Boston University professor of political science and project co-director Neta C. Crawford.

Indeed, the war devastated the Iraqi health care system and allowed militants to hone their skills and export them to neighboring conflicts.”

From some in the News Media to the “haters” of President Black, their convenient memory doesn’t allow them to remember that for the entire eight years Bush and Cheney ran the country into the ground, the state of affairs in America at the end of Bush’s Presidency, America was in deep and unforgiving waters; two badly managed wars incomplete; economically, worst than the great depression and as for our prestige, they, Bush and Cheney had removed almost every ounce of goodwill we had sacrificed to accomplish in 235 years.

Now five years into Mr. Black’s Presidency, one war is completely over and the other is in its last stage. The economy has regained real strength with the Stock Market at its highest in History; Financial Institutions are stable; unemployment is at 7% and President Black “DID NOT START ANY WAR.”

So, one has to wonder! Why is it that President Black is blamed for everything that ails America? I think the answer lies in the words of Frederick Douglass written on September 25. 1883;

“Though the colored man is no longer subject to barter and sale, he is surrounded by an adverse settlement which fetters all his movements. In his downward course he meets with no resistance, but his course upward is resented and resisted at every step of his progress.

If he comes in ignorance, rags and wretchedness he conforms to the popular belief of his character, and in that character he is welcome; but if he shall come as a gentleman, a scholar and a statesman, he is hailed as a contradiction to the national faith concerning his race, and his coming is resented as impudence!”
