FIFA – Jack Warner The Divisive Politician

[NYT] PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago — The prime minister of this Caribbean republic walked out of a session of Parliament on Friday, angrily chastising a fellow politician and former ally, Jack Warner, who finds himself and his two sons at the center of soccer’s widespread corruption scandal.

“Here we are now, a focus of the international world, not for the good and great things but because of the actions of one man,” Kamla Persad-Bissessar, the prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago, admonished Mr. Warner in a confrontation that dominated the television news here Friday night and the front pages of Saturday’s newspapers.

A onetime acting prime minister, as well as a former minister of national security and transportation, Mr. Warner, 72, is a polarizing populist, loved and loathed, a man about whom there appears to be no neutral opinion.

Four years ago, Mr. Warner lost his lofty position as a vice president of FIFA, soccer’s world governing body, in a bribery scandal. Now he stands accused of racketeering by United States authorities, charged with, among other things, taking a $10 million payment to influence voting on South Africa to host the 2010 World Cup. He has denied any wrongdoing.

    Jack Warner Sons Guilty Pleas:

Guilty Pleas

On July 15, 2013, Daryll Warner secretly pleaded guilty to wire fraud and illegal structuring of financial transactions to evade currency reporting transactions. The plea was related in part to mortgage fraud in the purchase in 2005-6 of a $990,000 condominium in Miami on behalf of himself and two family members.

On Oct. 18, 2013, Daryan Warner, then 45, entered federal court in Brooklyn, also to furtively plead guilty in the soccer investigation. As Mr. Warner began to address the court, he was interrupted by Judge William Kuntz of United States District Court, who offered his usual good-natured instruction to speak clearly.

“Take your time,” Judge Kuntz told Mr. Warner, according to an unsealed transcript of the hearing. “Take a drink of water. Slowly and loudly. Channel your inner Lord Vader, not your inner Woody Allen, O.K.? That’s what I say all the time.”

A Promising Nuclear Deal With Iran And The Face You Make When Sabotage Fails

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 3, 2015 by sheriffali

[NEW YORK TIMES EDITORIAL] The preliminary agreement between Iran and the major powers is a significant achievement that makes it more likely Iran will never be a nuclear threat. President Obama said it would “cut off every pathway that Iran could take to develop a nuclear weapon.”

Officials said some important issues have not been resolved, like the possible lifting of a United Nations arms embargo, and writing the technical sections could also cause problems before the deal’s finalization, expected by June 30. Even so, the agreement announced on Thursday after eight days of negotiations appears more specific and comprehensive than expected.

It would roll back Iran’s nuclear program sufficiently so that Iran could not quickly produce a nuclear weapon, and ensure that, if Iran cheated, the world would have at least one year to take preventive action, including reimposing sanctions. In return, the United States, the European Union and the United Nations would lift sanctions crippling Iran’s economy, though the timing of such a move is yet another uncertainty.

Iran would shut down roughly two-thirds of the 19,000 centrifuges producing uranium that could be used to fuel a bomb and agree not to enrich uranium over 3.67 percent (a much lower level than is required for a bomb) for at least 15 years. The core of the reactor at Arak, which officials feared could produce plutonium, another key ingredient for making a weapon, would be dismantled and replaced, with the spent fuel shipped out of Iran.

Mr. Obama, speaking at the White House, insisted he was not relying on trust to ensure Iran’s compliance but on “the most robust and intrusive inspections and transparency regime ever negotiated for any nuclear program.”

There is good reason for skepticism about Iran’s intentions. Although it pledged not to acquire nuclear weapons when it ratified the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty in 1970, it pursued a secret uranium enrichment program for two decades. By November 2013, when serious negotiations with the major powers began, Iran was enriching uranium at a level close to bomb-grade.

However, Iran has honored an interim agreement with the major powers, in place since January 2014, by curbing enrichment and other major activities.

By opening a dialogue between Iran and America, the negotiations have begun to ease more than 30 years of enmity. Over the long run, an agreement could make the Middle East safer and offer a path for Iran, the leading Shiite country, to rejoin the international community.

The deal, if signed and carried out, would vindicate the political risks taken by President Hassan Rouhani of Iran and President Obama to engage after decades of estrangement starting from the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Talking to adversaries — as President Ronald Reagan did in nuclear weapons negotiations with the Soviets and President Richard Nixon did in his opening to China — is something American leaders have long pursued as a matter of practical necessity and prudence.

Yet in today’s poisonous political climate, Mr. Obama’s critics have gone to extraordinary lengths to undercut him and any deal. Their belligerent behavior is completely out of step with the American public, which overwhelmingly favors a negotiated solution with Iran, unquestionably the best approach.

Sunni Arab nations and Israel are deeply opposed to any deal, fearing that it would strengthen Iran’s power in the region. This agreement addresses the nuclear program, the most urgent threat, and does not begin to tackle Iran’s disruptive role in Syria and elsewhere. Iran is widely seen as a threat; whether it can get beyond that will depend on whether its leaders choose to be less hostile to its neighbors, including Israel.

Secretive X-37B Military Space Plane To Land in California after 22 months in Orbit!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on October 14, 2014 by sheriffali

The U.S. Air Force’s mysterious X-37B space plane will return to Earth this week —possibly as early as Tuesday — after 22 months in orbit on a secret mission.

The robotic X-37B space plane, also known as the Orbital Test Vehicle, will land at the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, where Air Force officials are gearing up for its return. As of today (Oct. 12), the X-37B mini-shuttle has been in orbit since December 2012 and racked up a record-shattering 671 days in space.

“Team Vandenberg stands ready to implement safe landing operations for the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle, the third time for this unique mission” said Col. Keith Baits, 30th Space Wing commander, in a statement on Friday (Oct. 10). [See photos from the X-37B mission]

The X-37B landing could occur on Tuesday (Oct. 14), according to several press reports, including Reuters. The spacecraft is designed to fly itself autonomously during landings.

The Air Force has two X-37B space planes in its fleet and has been flying them on secret missions since 2010. But the exact purpose of those flights have been shrouded in secrecy. The mission in orbit now, called Orbital Test Vehicle 3 (OTV-3), launched on Dec. 11, 2012 aboard an Atlas 5 rocket.

As its name suggests, the OTV-3 mission is the third X-37B flight, but it uses the same space plane that launched on the program’s first mission, OTV-1, in April 2010. That first flight lasted 225 days. The second X-37B space plane launched in March 2011 and returned to Earth in June 2012 after 469 days in orbit.

endurance milestones of the earlier missions in the dust. All X-37B missions are overseen by the U.S. Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office. The 3rd Space Experimentation Squadron at Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado, serves as mission control.

X-37B space planes resemble miniature versions of NASA’s space shuttles, just smaller, with two of the vehicles fitting inside the payload bay of a NASA shuttle. Each X-37B spacecraft is about 29 feet (8.8 meters) long and 9.5 feet (2.9 m). They have a wingspan of about 15 feet (4.6 m), and a small payload bay about the size of a pickup truck bed.

Boeing’s Phantom Works division built the X-37B mini-shuttles. The spacecraft are able to stay in orbit for months by using a solar array to generate power.

So far, all X-37B missions have landed in California at Vandenberg Air Force Base, but that may not always be the case.

Boeing is working to repurpose a retired NASA shuttle hangar at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, near the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station used to launch all X-37B space missions to date. Meanwhile, the U.S. Air Force has been studying the possibility of using a NASA runway previously used by space shuttles for future X-37B landings. [Yahoo News]

American Douglas McArthur McCain from San Diego California killed fighting for ISIS in Syria

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 26, 2014 by sheriffali

The battle in itself seemed tragically normal. Two Syrian opposition groups fought and there were heavy casualties on both sides. Then victorious rebels rifled through the pockets of the dead. One contained about $800 in cash — and an American passport.

Douglas McAuthur McCain, of San Diego, California, was killed over the weekend fighting for the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), according to the Free Syrian Army. Photos of McCain’s passport and of his body — which feature a distinctive neck tattoo — have been seen by NBC News. According to an activist linked to the Free Syrian Army who also saw the body and travel document, McCain was among three foreign jihadis fighting with ISIS who died during the battle. The State Department was not immediately able to comment on the report.

NBC News has contacted several members of McCain’s family and dozens of friends – including his mother, sister, aunts and cousins. A woman who said she was McCain’s aunt confirmed that he had “passed” and referred calls to McCain’s mother.

A profile photo taken from the Facebook page of a man calling himself “Duale ThaslaveofAllah” has been identified by NBC News as Douglas McAuthur McCain, 33, an American who killed over the weekend in Syria.

McCain, 33, called himself “Duale ThaslaveofAllah” on Facebook and his Twitter bio reads: “It’s Islam over everything.” But how did this would-be rapper go from shooting hoops in a blue-collar area of Minnesota to dying in the civil war thousands of miles from home? This is his story — one shared in part by only a “small handful” of Americans believed to be fighting in Syria with ISIS.

President Obama seeking Congressional Approval is not BLINKING, he is THINKING!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on September 1, 2013 by sheriffali

Obama is not trying to win a Civil War in Syria, he is seeking to punish and dissuade the Syrian Regime on any further use of Chemical Weapons. The United States and the World has a moral obligation to carry out this action.

The International Community banned the use of Chemical and Biological Weapons in 1925, subsequent to World War 1, and the ban was reinforced in 1972 and 1993.

Over the past two weeks President Obama and his administration clearly stated that the President “did not” make any decision on how he was going to handle Syria, but was looking at the options provided to him by his Military Advisors.

It was only on Saturday August 31, 2013, the President announced that he has made the decision to strike Syria, but he was going to seek Congressional Approval.

Most of the Media that strive on news of “mayhem; death, destruction and scandals of all sorts,” have criticized the President for seeking Congressional Approval. Perhaps, just perhaps, the delay in Military Action interrupted the Media’s thirst to report “tragedy.”

Amazingly enough, this criticism was not limited to the usual suspects; Fox News and CNN.  I was most surprised to see David Gregory of Meet the Press, verbally tormenting Secretary of State, John Kerry, solely because the President sought Congressional Approval.

It shouldn’t be difficult for the American people to remember that it was the same Media that failed to ask questions of former President George W. Bush, but helped to sell Bush’s fantasy about Iraq’s Chemical Weapons, that to this day, “the stench of Iraq’s misery, is still with us and the International Community.”

The International Community banned the use of Chemical and Biological Weapons in 1925, subsequent to World War 1, and the ban was reinforced in 1972 and 1993.

The Syrian Government’s use of Chemical Weapons against its own people, is not just an American problem, it is the World’s problem. Thus, it is only fitting that President Obama seeks to have International Assistance in the case of Syria. The problem with the rest of the world is that they agree that what the Syrian Government did by killing over 1,400 of their own people [some 400 children] with the use of Chemical Weapons is a crime, but they stop short on offering any assistance.

So, with only France standing firm with America, it was very intelligent of the President to seek Congressional Approval. The President is also attending the G-20 Summit this week in St. Petersburg, Russia, and it may be his thinking that he might be able to persuade a few more countries to form a COALITION that would suggest to others, that we are not reverting back to the recklessness of Bush and Cheney “go it alone attitude.”

In addition, the War Weary Americans do not really want America to be involved in another war, and short of saying no, the American people by 80%, requested that the President seek Congressional Approval before any Military Action is taken.

It is amazing to witness the criticism of President Obama when others thought he was going to by-pass Congress and when he did not, they criticize him for doing so!

You are damned if you do and damned if you don’t!

PRESIDENT OBAMA - CONGRESSIONAL APPROVAL

Benghazing! Constipated Darrell Issa and the Republican Fuckers along with Murdoch’s Fuck News Channel are at it again!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on May 8, 2013 by sheriffali

Just imagine, if it was President Obama that sat on his ass after receiving the National Intelligence Estimate on August 6, 2001, warning that Al Qaeda was determined to strike within the United States using Air Crafts as lethal weapons and didn’t do anything and allow 9/11 to occur, “HE WOULD HAVE BEEN FUCKED!”

Where were all of the concerns as to who knew what and when after September 11? Bush and Cheney were controlling the White House and the Republicans were in control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate. They swept everything under the rug and went on their merry way.

It is now nine months since the Benghazi tragedy and these shameless fucks are still trying to “milk” the tragedy to embarrass Obama. This is not about fact finding but it is about fucking to find!

In conclusion, the only thing worst than the Republicans in Congress and Fuck News (FOX), are child molesters and terrorists.

Maureen Dowd, New York Times! It is easy to promulgate morale bull shit when your ass is not on the line, isn’t it?

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on April 17, 2013 by sheriffali

Ms. Dowd: There are bad fuckers out there killing their own people and would kill you or any other American with no conviction whatsoever. Rather than spend the trillions of dollars that Bush spent with the Afghanistan and Iraqi war, I say; “kill these fuckers wherever you can find them, but we should never again put our Soldiers in the midst of chaos!”

Ms. Dowd perhaps you have passed the age of Service to Country, but if that wasn’t the case would you become a soldier or encourage your blood brothers or sister to join the military? Further more, if they were in the military would you then change your opinion about the Drones or would you prefer the President send your family into the “hell-hole” of Afghanistan.

It is easy to promulgate the “morale” bull-shit when your ass is not on the line, isn’t it?
